Luxurious property in backwaters
Stayed here for a night during our Kerala trip. The property is very well maintained and all rooms had a backwater view. The check in was smooth. There were a lot of complimentary and paid activities. We did the sunset cruise and did a paid shikara ride for 2 hours. The bf buffet was good. Wi-Fi worked fine. The stay was value for money. Wish we could stay longer. Next time maybe

This is a 5 star property only due to location. The service was very poor and disappointing. 1. In the dinner buffet, the food was spilled on floor and no one came to clean it even after saying 2-3 times. 2. We were not served rotis/breads even after waiting for 20-25 minutes and all the vegetables is our plate became cold till then. 3. We got water and cutlery after asking thrice for it, which should be kept in advance ideally. 4. In the room service, we got the wrong drinks 3 times. 5. In the breakfast buffet, there were very few options to eat and the cutlery problem was the same. We had only 2 spoons amoung 4 members and noone gave as they busy with other stuff. 6. We asked for interconnected rooms 10 days before check-in and the staff confirmed it too. But, noone gave it at the moment and the reception guys denied that the info. wasn't passed to them. 7. The wifi signal was very poor and we were dependent on mobile data throughout our stay. Due to long weekend, the property was sold out and they were not able to manage even the basic things. There was hustle and bustle everywhere within the staff and they didn't have a second to listen to you. It was a terrible experience and we won't recommend it. COMPLETE MONEY WASTAGE.

Stay away from this property.
Damp rooms, broken air conditioner, mediocre buffet breakfast. We thought of leaving after being shown to our room but decided against it because this was our last stop. Only good thing to say was the complimentary boat ride and the service. Was told that all other rooms were booked by a travel group. The air conditioner in our room was broken and kept leaking water on the floor and making loud noises. Had to wake up every few hours in the night to turn off. Almost no Wi-Fi connectivity either. 2 star property at best. Totally not worth the money.

I really liked the location but other important things like staff courtesy, response to inquiries, room cleanliness and sharing information regarding sight seeing seemed to be absent. There was mosquito infestation as soon as it got dark so this was a hinderance if people needed to go outside their rooms in the evening.

Staff is very nice and professional. Our room was clean and we received an upgrade for the second night. The resort looks in really good condition even though the region was hit severely by the monsoon last season.

Great experience overall
A great experience overall: comfortable and peaceful. The gardens are amazing and well maintained. There is a complimentary 1-hour boat ride at 5pm and a Keralan dance performance in the evening. The food is delicious. The staff are very attentive. For a 5-star hotel there are some serious shortcomings though: pigeons soiled continually our balcony and no one ever cleaned it; most of the gym equipment is outworn and dysfunctional; towels could have been cleaner.

A lovely experience
The resort is so tranquil with its location away from hub of town and all boat business. They cater to your every whim! They included river boat rides back and forth to the houseboats hub and take you on a sunset riverboat cruise every evening. The food is delicious with wonderful breakfast!!! The room very comfortable!!!! All in all it’s a great deal very fulfilling!!! We enjoyed our green tea and consultation with Aruyvedic doctor...he was so accommodating!!!! Don’t miss this resort when in Kerala!!!

Pleasant Stay
Perfect touch of modern comfort that allows you to enjoy the heat and rustic charm of Lake palace. The staff were extremely helpful and always there to provide an effortless service. Con- room felt boring and dull. Room needs to be polished up to make your stay feel comfortable and at ease.

The welcome itself was poor as we were not served Welome drinks...Rooms allotted was good but a kind of small creature was disturbing.. Hotel staff changed room next day....Buffet is highly overcharged for the kind of food served... This is my 3rd trip to this property...The aging of aminities is visible due to poor maitenance.....The response time for a requested room service is also not permissible for a resort of said class... This property requires a revamp orelse any deals in current rates will be a real loss.....Its having huge scope of improvement....

the food at this hotel is terrible.
The food is terrible at this place. The breakfast is extremely poor. To be in an area which has an abundance of inexpensive fresh fruit and the hotel providing a very limited range and tinned juice is poor. The tables are not fully cleaned between breakfast and lunch. I would say that the hotel management is cutting corners to save a few pennies but losing people eating lunch or dinner at the hotel. Considering that the hotel is a 20 minute boat or taxi ride to town it is important that the hotel meals are to a good standard. Room not very clean. Overhead shower was dangerous and could not be used. Reported to the hotel but either didn't understand or not bothered. The staff were nice. Let down by very poor management. Not worth the money and more importantly ruined 3 days of my holiday.

An impressive and unique place but needs updates
Location, layout, pool and plantings (flowers, bushes, trees) are truly impressive. All rooms arrayed around lakes. Dining room décor and location overlooking lake is upscale and pleasant. But definitely needs some fixes to live up to its “luxury” claims. Bathrooms in our “villa” badly needed updating. Gym was really disappointing: no AC and half the ceiling fans didn’t work so unpleasantly hot; equipment old and rusty; no TVs or even music. Free evening cruise was really delightful. Free ferry into Alleppey was very useful. Overall, enjoyed the stay for the uniqueness of the location, the staff tried, but it was not up to the quality of other 5-star places we stayed at in India. Hopefully, the renovations currently in progress will remedy the current shortcomings. Note that it is 2 hours plus to the airport, so make arrangements ahead of time.

Great Backwaters Resort
The hotel - resort - is excellently maintained. The views and appearance are very pleasing. The food is very good and offers a good range. Check in advance the Complimentary boat service from the jetty in Allepey to the resort. Slight dissapointment would be the lack of wi-fi connectivity (very hit or miss), if you need to keep in touch with the outside world. Ideal location if you are seeking peace and isolation.

Très bel hôtel pour un grand moment de détente
Très bel hôtel pour apprécier les backwaters. Service fantastique. Je recommande la journée en bateau, un grand moment de détente grâce à la gentillesse du personnel. Piscine très agréable au milieu du lac. Restaurant à la hauteur du luxe de l'endroit. Seul bémol: les chambres mériteraient une petite rénovation mais à ce niveau cela reste du détail.
