“Excellent central location”
Having lived close to Amsterdam for several years I knew 'Die Port van Cleve' hotel but had never stayed there. I knew its central location would be a bonus with trams and buses stopping just outside. Most places of interest are well within walking distance of the hotel. Of course the downside is that it can be a little noisy as Amsterdam has joined New York as a city that never sleeps. The staff at the hotel were very efficient anf friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
“Location, size, & other guests”
What your paying for at this hotel is location. That the size of the rooms is larger than most Euro hotels or that the other guests were all very nice were bonuses. The staff was helpful and kind. The cleanliness was just fine. Most rooms were recently renovated but beds were a second thought. Mostly the location though. There's already enough walking to do in A'dam, this hotel helps alliviate that. From now on, this is my Amsterdam hotel. See you at the bar! -Daniel
“can't wait to go back”
The Hotel made the trip!!!
“Central comfortable and friendly”
8 ins walk from the central station , a few seconds from Dam Square, several trams stoped outside the hotel. the staff were very friendly and helpfull, the restaurant served great food though the buffet breakfast was a little expensive. all in all a good experience.
“No need to worry!!”
We've stayed at this hotel before therefore rebooked for October 06, taking along two friends. Browsing the reviews and was disappointed to read that someone apparently came away with flea bites. In the event, there was no need to worry. In our room, the phone wasn't working and in our friends, a couple of bulbs had blown. We reported this on our way out the first evening and they were sorted by the time we returned. Our rooms were spotless, the staff helpful and we really enjoyed our breakfast!!
“Great hotel for pre River Cruise stay”
Planned 3 days here prior to 14 day River cruise. Wanted to explore the city and get used to time difference prior to cruise. This location is perfect and the hotel was very nice. Easy walking distance to City Center for day cruises around the outer canals, to the Red Light District, Anne Franks house. Grocery store and mini shopping areas within 3 blocks. Only one computer to use, so bring your own if you "really" need that on daily basis. Worked out perfectly and would use them again.
“A Great place to stay and in a perfect Location”
The Port Van Cleve was a great place to stay. Located right behind the Queen's Palace puts you in the center of the city. Many nice resturants, bars, and coffee shops near buy.
“Great City Break”
The hotel was in a perfect location for exploring Amsterdam and getting the train out of the city; clean and comfortable with friendly staff and the breakfast was also excellent.
“Would use this hotel again”
Clean, friendly staff, comfortable, within walking distance of main attractions. Perfect for a short city break.
“Perfect location”
Excellent location Good Value Good service Friendly staff Good Bar Modern Fixtures e.g LCD TV Very Clean Good room facilities e.f coffee machine, safe, phone Only downside wasthat the room was quite dark but we did have an attic window overlooking the front
