“Highly recommended”
The charm of an older hotel with all the comfort and convenience of a modern hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful, Delicious buffet breakfast, machine for various coffees (latte, etc), teas, and hot chocolate available all the time. We even got candies and a red rubber ducky with hearts on it for Valentines Day!
“Hotel Estherea”
Great location, helpful, friendly staff, beautiful facility, a bit old world but fresh, absolutely no complaints. Would stay there again without hesitation. Didn't eat at the hotel but the bar was nice! Tea, coffee and light desserts/snacks always available and complimentary.
“great choice in centre of amsterdam”
friendly welcoming hotel in superb position. recommended
“Looking forward to going back soon”
We have stayed at the Estherea a few times and have always enjoyed it. The staff are always friendly & polite and are also willing to help if you need it.
“What a lovely place to stay”
Hotel Estherea Amsterdam is one of the nicest city hotels we have stayed in. The double room was very comfortable and furnished to a high standard. The staff were attentive but not overbearing and breakfast very good consisting of cereals, fruit juices, yoghurts, fruit, cheeses, meats, eggs, bacon, sausages, croissants etc all being replenished every few minutes. Very nice touch to have free coffee, tea, hot chocolate, biscuits and even fruit cake available in the hotel bar/lobby all day and evening. I used the laundry service and my cleaned clothes were hanging up in our room on our return at tea time. The hotel is very well located for all the sights, in a quiet area yet there are plenty of places to eat within a 5 minute walk. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and we look forward to returning soon.
“Clean, comfortable hotel in excellent location.”
Central, very comfortable hotel with helpful, efficient staff. Attractive, comfortable lounge with coffee, tea and snacks, including fresh fruit, available all day (no charge, help yourself). Would stay here again if visiting Amsterdam.
“Lovely hotel.”
Stayed at the Estherea for 3 nights with my husband and were given a great room on the 5th floor overlooking street and city. It was absolutely spotless, spacious and very well decorated with a lovely bathroom. The public areas also were immaculate, cosy and very comfortable - it was a pleasure to come back to the hotel after a day sightseeing. There was complimentary coffee and tea available in the lobby also a cosy bar and library. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore the city on foot, although public transport is plentiful. There is a tram stop two streets behind the hotel. Also there are numerous good restaurants in the area. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful which made our stay all the better. We had a great trip and will definately return to the Estherea again when we visit Amsterdam.
“Stylish, friendly hotel.”
Very clean hotel with friendly reception staff. Our room was a bit on the small side but VERY well decorated and furnished. It was at the front of the hotel overlooking the canal which was something I had hoped for. The hotel was decorated more in a classic older fashioned style but very tasteful. The breakfasts were more than adequate and tasty and there was a small bar if you wanted. We were far enough out of the city centre to be peaceful and quiet but not so far as you could not comfortably walk it. I think this will probably be our only leisure trip to Amsterdam as there is not too much to see there but if we were to go back I would most certainly stay at the Estherea again. Very busy city - I found the bikes to be the biggest threat. I would most certainly recommend this lovely, friendly, stylish hotel.
“Gezellig Hotel in Amsterdam”
Hotel Estherea is almost too perfect. It's located in a quiet area within walking distance of all major attractions. Right next door is a cafe where we had some fantastic breakfasts. Our room was one of largest hotel rooms we've ever stayed in, complete with funky wallpaper, two bathrooom sinks, and two seating areas. The lobby was nothing to sneeze at either. A saltwater fishtank, crystal chandeliers, separate library, interesting floral arrangements, and a 24-hour coffee and muffin bar all contributed to the hotel's coziness and charm It's worth coming to Amsterdam just to stay at this hotel.
“Lovely location - convenient and scenic”
This hotel is just far enough off the main drags to be quiet and secure (and scenically located on a canal), yet within easy walking distance of everything in central Amsterdam. The place itself was lovely as well - big, well appointed common areas, sizeable bathroom and comfortable room (no view though). Completely enjoyed our stay here.

Canal Ring, Amsterdam, Netherlands: The classic Amsterdam image of stately canals, the Canal Loop is principally the Herengracht and Keizersgracht, lined with gracious tall 17th and 18th-century houses. Some of these are now museums, most notably the eccentric Kattenkabinet. The Amstel is a more down-to-earth waterway, lined with houseboats and famous for its classic muchphotographed Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). The floating Flower Market is also a much-loved canal feature.
