“Special memories”
The staff at the Argyll Hotel made me very comfortable. I felt as if I was a guest rather than just another tourist walking through their doors! The 'cottage' room was comfortable - ideal with views to the street and the hills. It was great to look out ..see and hear the Inveraray Pipes and Drums playing on their return from the Cowral Highland Gathering. The dining/bar areas were good and well presented. The menus offered many healthy choices as did the buffet breakfast. A beautiful setting looking over the green to Loch Fyne. Ideally situated to the bus stop (Glasgow to Campbeltown and nearby towns), Inveraray Castle, the tourist information centre (next door), shops for everyday needs as well as souveniers, cafes and churches. As my heritage and family history are both connected to the Argyll Hotel, Inveraray and Glen Shira this was truly a very special experience....
“Inverarays Best Hotel with Great Staff.”
Staff service and friendliness was second to none. Very helpfull. Great food and very comfortable hotel. Nice and relaxing setting with the castle grounds 100 meters away. Inveraray is a really nice place and a good base for Oban and Campbelltown. Well worth a visit and stay at the Argyll Hotel.
“Good all rounder”
Very friendly staff, excellent service. Perfect location with loch views. Only negative is that the hotel could do with a refurb.
“Good rural hotel for a stopover”
Hotel situated right on the water, so great views if you get a room to the front like I did. Dining room was comfortable and well decorated, with good breakfast and helpful staff in the morning. Not a great bar for the hotel, but clean and functional. Bedroom was of a good size, very clean with large ensuite, but drawback was that there was no heating on in the room on arrival as outside temperatures were near to 0C. Reception not particularly friendly on both arrival and departure, only the waiting staff at breakfast brought up the score. More attention to the customer required. But all that aside, I would recommend the hotel for a stopover in this part of the world.
