“quiet hotel in busy city”
Clean, quiet hotel in busy area. Staff was VERY helpfull, the manager even came by and helped me in the gym, and to locate a store selling horse items. The front desk helped us arrange a bus trip out of the city and arranged cabs. The breakfast was excellent.
“Oasis in Asuncion”
This hotel exceeded my expections-- it was spotlessly clean, had funky , modern decor, was air-conditioned, and is situated in a perfect location in the heart of downtown and within walking distance of all downtown's attractions. There was a good free breakfast and friendly staff (the manager even introduced himself). Only 2 minor things: 1) front desk staff's English wasn't perfect and they didn't always understand me, and 2) the smoke smell from the casino wafts into the free internet area. Overall the Guarani Esplendor was the PERFECT place to stay in Asuncion and if I ever go back to the city I will definitely stay there again.

This hotel is excellent. The staff were very friendly and professional. I would totally recommend this hotel.
“5 stars hotel in Paraguayan standards”
This hotel was nice and clean. Also the stuff was nice. Anyway, we wouldn´t consider it as a 5 stars hotel because it was very simple without any extra luxury that you cannot find from hotels considered 3 or 4 stars (internationally). The building (and the furniture in the rooms) have been renovated and are in a good condition, but it seems that they have not changed the windows. The noise in the street caused by the horning cars and whisling police, that started about 6 am wasn´t really pleasant for travelers that were tired after a 30 hours trip from Europe. (Our room was in the 9th floor, facing to the busy street). One odd thing was that our room was cleaned twice a day... We don´t know if they had mistaken, or if it belongs to the service. :-D The location of the hotel is excellent because it is in the very center and you can easily pick up a bus or a taxi in front of it. The restaurant was also good. The buffet breakfast was somewhat poor, but delicious with various fruits and I guess it was excellent in Paraguayan level. Our conclusion is that there is nothing to complain if you keep in mind not to expect the luxury of 5 stars hotel. If you want more luxury, be ready to pay a bit more and be a bit away from the centrer.
“Guarani Asuncion”
Hotal has been refurbished in the main pulic areas. Rooms are nice but still with old 70s style and decoration. Hotel is in the center of the city, the old center. Unfortunately for a business stay, the new center has been moving to where the Sheraton is located, where all companies have move to. Still, from 1 to 10, I would rate is a 6-7.
“Not Impressed for the price.”
The hotel room I paid for was not available for two days. The staff could care less and expected me to be happy that they had any room available for me given they were almost full. One day I had my camera with me while eating lunch at the hotel buffet. Some of the lunch staff members to include the chef asked me to take photos of them and email the photos to them. I started taking photos. The restaurant manager got upset with me and was very unprofessional in expressing to me that I cannot take photos in the restaurant because it was upsetting the other restaurant guests. Overall, the stay experience was not very good.
“A bad experience”
The hotel is dirty, the service is bad and the breakfast is poor. I lived a bad experience in this hotel.
