“NYvacationers”
We love love loved this hotel!!!! This is possibly the best vacation we ever took. Not over the top "luxurious" but very nice (shower was tricky but great otherwise). Location wise it's a little removed from downtown & we thought that was going to be a bummer but not so. We really liked that we were a little far out of town. Belizean Shores has GREAT food & the best swim up bar we saw. We loved the staff, they were so caring and genuine. The front desk wasn't available 100% of the time but not a huge deal. We would definitely recommend it.
“Beautiful spot!”
We loved this place. Fabulous pool, free kayaks that you can tie up to moorings to go snorkeling, bike rentals, helpful staff. The suite is very large, and if you pick up groceries in town (try the French Bakery) when you first arrive, you have a full kitchen for meals.
“Great Vacation”
Ambergris Caye is a great place to vacation, but don't go for the beaches because there are none. Snorkel, dive, visit the mainland/Mayan ruins, go cave tubing, shop, eat (great food . . . be sure to eat at Capricorn just down the beach and in town at Elvis Kitchen and a little dive called Tortilleria which had the best burritos I have had), but because of the coral reef, the ocean is calm and the beaches are filled with sea grass. But don't worry, the pool at Belizean Shores may just be the best on the island. The accommodations at Belizean Shores are spacious, well maintained, and the staff is excellent. Even though we missed having a beach, I would go back to Belizean Shores . . . but I would also like to go south to Placencia which I understand has the only good beaches in the entire county. Oh, Ambergris Caye is not particularly cheap, an average meal for two will cost you about $75 U.S. with drinks, and the water taxi to/from town is $7.00 U.S. each way.
“Great hotel for great price”
The hotel is lovely, with excellent laid-back service. The swim-up bar is marvelous, as is the pool. The Tuf-Enuf snorkelling and excursion office was very convenient with good trips. The restaurant is fine, but for high cuisine there is better down the beach. I highly recommend this hotel.
“"Happy Friday... and a Happy Saturday in Advance!!"”
This place was great! It was already highly recommended so we chose the Belizean Shores for our honeymoon. The room was beautiful, well equipped with kitchen supplies, and cleaned daily with fresh flowers on our table. I suggest looking online and having groceries sent to the room in advance. It was slim pickins in the grocery stores in San Pedro. The staff was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. They provide complimentary internet acess in the lobby and have a store for postcards, beverages, and souvineers. They also have stamps and mail service for you. We took two tours with Tuff E Nuff Tours which is located at the hotel's pier (they also provide water taxis to downtown San Pedro). The trip to Lamanai was amazing!! The guides were all friendly, knowledgeable, and accomodating. We also snorkeled at Hol Chan and that too was gorgeous and exciting!! Belizean Shores is on the north side of San Pedro so you can take a water taxi to town, but the hotel also has bikes available for rent. The food at the Upper Deck Grill was good, there are also restaurants up and down the beach within walking distance, and Pirate Pizza delivers right to your room, and that too is delicious! Overall it was just a great experience. We definitely want to return someday soon. Beautiful scenery (the pool is also awesome!), nice relaxed atmosphere, I could go on and on. Belizean Shores is a great stay, would love to stay there again.
“We will go back”
Everyone at the resort was so friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was very good, the dive shop was great in arranging our dives. It was a great experience.
“We really enjoyed our stay”
The Belizean Shores made our vacation the best. We went into town(San Pedro almost every day) Look into getting a week pass for the water taxi, otherwise it will cost $7- adults, and $3.50 US for children. If planning to eat in Ambergris Caye make sure you have deep woods insect repellant, the mosqitos are very active especially at night. The restaurant at the Azul resort, Rojo was extremlely nice but a bit costly and well worth every belizean dollar. Captain Morgans was nice for breakfast and dinner. You will find things cheaper in San Pedro. If you go into San Pedro you have to go to Elvi's Diner and the Blue Grill they have the best food plus the service is great as well.We used Mar Amigos for the Blue Hole and Lime Tours for Belize Zoo and Cave Tubing. We didn't use Tuff E Nuff because we found the prices lower in town. If planning to go to Guatamela you'll have to go by bus and you'll have to make it an overnight trip at most, be sure to plan ahead. The pool at the Belizean Shores was fabulous, and the entire staff was very friendly. Also, be sure to bring theings like shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc.because they only supply you with a small bar of soap. We missed our connecting flight and couldn't arrive until the next day, They graciously extended our lost day on the end of our trip and we didn't have to change rooms. In closing, we would excitedly stay at the Belizean Shores again, the sevrice was supurb.
“Exceeded my expectations!!”
Very clean 1 bedroom modern condos with full kitchen (stocked for cooking & serving, including coffee pot and microwave), 3/4 bath, private patios. Be sure to bring an alarm clock as there was not one (at least not in my space). The grounds are beautiful and the pool area is awesome, known to be one of the best in all of Belize. The restaurant is decent, serving the basics. The only need for improvement is in the wait service in the restaurant and with room service. It's a bit slow and often food delivery not complete, such as no dressing with salad or beverages not delivered although everything does eventually show up and tastes good. As an alternative, stop at the market in town to prepare meals in the condo. Property is located about 4 miles north of San Pedro's "city center", which is accessed by a 10 minute water taxi that runs every 1 to 2 hours, depending on the time of day ($5 each way). You can also get private runs (at a higher cost) or sometimes catch a ride with hotel staff if they're boating into town. The property does, however, provide pick-up/drop-off from either the airport or boat dock upon your arrival/departure. Belizean Shores also has golf carts and bicycles available for hourly or daily rental if you choose to use either one of these means for your transportation. I did not mind the distance from town because it was nice to be able to escape the boat noise and foot traffic and frankly, it's a lot prettier north of town too.
“Excellent place to stay”
great place to stay very comfortable
“Quiet and Private”
A nice resort if you're looking for peace and quiet. Food was excellent. Staff was friendly and responsive to requests. Condos were very nice and comfortable. Food was OUTSTANDING. If you happen to look at their menu online, don't panic, the prices are in Belizean dollars (2 to $1 US).
