“Holiday Inn Express Berlin”
Modern Hotel in an excellent location just 5 mins walk from the S Bahn station. Potsdamer Platz is 10 mins walk away as is Checkpoint Charlie. Hotel is clean and well maintained and with an excellent free breakfast. Free WIFI in the reception Area is a real bonus. Staff were ok if not particularly welcoming.

Location good, near to stations and buses. Hotel clean friendly and comfortable. Breakfast is continental but lots of it. Tea/coffee in room.Supermarket across road (nice & cheap) Ideal base for sight seeing around Berlin.

“Ideally located”
Excellent position if you want to be accessible to the City without too much noise and hustle and bustle. 15 min walk to Postdamer Platz and plenty of eating places to choose from. Links from airport (Shoenefeld) to the hotel excellent by train - use the BVG website before you travel - it tells you where the train you need is going / what line and what platform - very useful at some of the bigger stations where s bahn / U bahn and regional rail all merge. all ticket machines take notes and coins and have a useful language conversion button! NB if you want to visit the Reichstag they now have a system whereby you can ONLY book on line 2 days in advance if you want to go in the dome! Very frustrating - although the hotel had free internet in the lobby if you caught unawares like us. Recommned hop on hop off bus tours as a way to see all around especially if only a short stay. Take a trip up the tv tower and victory column for birds eye views of the city from both sides. Well worth a visit
“Good location, close to Potsdamer Platz”
The hotel is close to Potsdamer Platz (about 10 minutes walk). So you can enjoy dinner or drink until late at night and come back to the hotel safely. The metro station is closer and you can go anywhere in the city by using U-barn and S-barn very easily.
“Can't wait to go back”
Overall we had a fantastic holiday. The hotel was extremely good, the staff were friendly and the area we stayed in was quiet but not to far away from the main hustle and bustle of Berlin. There was loads to see in Berlin and the hotel had little cards in the lobby where we could get little discounts from various bars, clubs and shops. The entire holiday was very easy to arrange and we couldn't have picked a nicer hotel. The staff were friendly, could speak English very well although occasionally we had to speak slower and we tried to speak German too. The rooms were quite spacious and the bathrooms more than adequate. Also the bathrooms very very clean. Only downside with booking through expedia was when we booked flights with Easy Jet and hotel to add a tourist trip or tour round the main sights etc to the itinerary it was simply clicking on a button EXCEPT when it come to adding a bag to the flight i.e. a suitcase to be checked in. If you want to add a suitcase to be checked in you can't click to add it on you must ring a number. We didn't see the little bit of information saying to ring a number in order to add our luggage so when we checked our bags in we were charged £20 each both ways so that was an extra £40 each we didn't need to spend. I don't believe Expedia made that very clear but that is just a little thing. Overall fantastic holiday and we will be going back.
