“Great Choice in East Berlin”
Hotel was very nice and comfortable. It is in a quiet part of Berlin and there are no nearby cafes or restaurants. There is however a restaurant in the hotel open til 10pm which you can order room service from. Nice breakfast buffet in the morning. Walking distance was a little further than expected to Alexanderplatz (about 20 min), but you can easily take a 3 minute tram ride to get there. There's also a bus stop right outside the hotel that will take you to West Berlin. The staff was very helpful and for your traveling convenience they sell public transportation tickets in the lobby. While there I did two of the Insider walking tours and highly recommend them. Taxi to the airport takes about 25 min and costs a little over 20 euro--not bad! I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 night stay here and would recommend it. You'll love your stay in Berlin!
“very impressed”
We booked the cheapest option and so were surprised to find we had a suite comprising hall way, bedroom, sitting room,kitchen and bathroom. Strange thing was that there were no tea/coffee making facilities. Like the other reviewer we found this a bit odd. We asked in reception but were told in very clinical fashion that these facilities were not supplied. Apart from the tea making anomoly the hotel was one of the best I have ever stayed in anywhere. The bus stop right outside the hotel takes you right through town - television tower, unten den linden, brandenburg gate/reichstag, kufurstendam/zoo.Hard to justify a taxi.

We had a spacious suite which comprised living room, bathroom and bedroom although childrens beds were set up in living area. As previously mentioned no tea/coffee making facilities but various beers, wine & juices in mini bar which were reasonably priced. Breakfast was superb and staff were very courteous. As we only had two full days to explore we used taxi's to get about which were reasonably priced as everything was accessible. All in all would stay here again.
“Good hotel but rude people at the reception”
The hotel was nice and comfy. The people at the reception, however, was quite rude and not really helpful (particularly the ladies).
“Service great, room nice - but no air conditioning!”
Hotel room was clean and comfortable, but very warm with no a/c. As our room was over a fairly busy road it was v. noisy with the window open at night. We were moved on request to a quieter room without any fuss. Second room had a bloced shower drain and we were moved again. This was the only other problem we encountered with the room(s). Caught by surprise that there was no kettle or coffee maker in room. Staff generally were very pleasant and helpful. Food was great - bit more expensive than other restaurants in Berlin, but still fairly reasonable. Would recommend breakfast.
“cultural vultures”
The hotel was well placed for getting about in Berlin, with attractive outlook. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide choice of appealing fare. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only down side was having to pay for use of the internet in the foyer.
