The staff couldn’t have been any more attentive and the food at Smoke was amazing. Beautiful surroundings and overall a very enjoyable stay.

Amazing stay. Very friendly staff and impeccable service - felt like home away from home. The property itself is stunning and very well looked after. Would definitely recommend for an oasis of peace outside the city.

A beautiful property. Very well appointed. The Cottage is absolutely stunning. You must try the bakery. I had to bring some sourdough back home with me!

Absolutely lovely
An absolutely lovely stay. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by Allanah and she was kind and attentive. She showed us around, before escorting us to our room and answering our questions. Our room was beautifully decorated, warm and cosy. The bathtub was deep and sumptuous, the toiletries provided were fresh and felt lovely and the home baked cookies in the room were a nice (and tasty) touch. We had booked a table at Smoke for dinner, and when the reservation rolled around it was pouring with rain, so Allanah kindly drove us over in the minibus - a lovely touch. The meal was fantastic - we did the 5 course taster menu with accompanying wines and even bought a bottle of our favourite wine to take home. The restaurant kindly provided an umbrella for us to dawdle back to the hotel in the fresh air. Our sleep was I disturbed - the bed was exceptionally comfortable and we had a lovely rest. Everything about our stay was fantastic and I really must stress how much of an asset and a delight Allanah is - she’s a huge selling point for the business and really had the perfect balance of being attentive without being overbearing. This was our first stay here and we are already planning when we will be back.

Sheer Excellence.
Amazing property with lovely grounds. The staff are amazing and welcome you like an old friend and make you feel at home. Nothing is too big an ask! Definitely a new favourite hotel. Lots of treats such as cookies and tea / coffee. Very relaxing and perfect for switching off and recharging.

Beautiful hotel
Hotel is beautiful in terms of design and architectural detail, however its restaurants are flooded with local residents. They are also there for coffee during weekends and bring dogs and children, making the place rather busy and not a quiet spot. hotel guests do not have the guarantee to eat there unless they book a place at the restaurant well in advance. I would advise 4 weeks ahead. Also our room smelled funny when we first arrived. Food in the Smoke restaurant is good but I wouldn’t say it’s excellent. Wouldn’t rate Customer service in the restaurant as 5 stars either. Reception staff however was excellent and so was the hotel breakfast.

This is an amazing hotel with excellent restaurants. The staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do more to help you. I loved the tour of the hotel & restaurants by the owner. We'll definitely be back !

Hi Simon,Thank you for your feedback. Yes, we are located near Birmingham airport, so the planes can be heard. We haven't received this feedback about the ventilation for the room you stayed in before, so this is something we will look in to this.

The mix of traditional-style furniture with new technology. The games room and vinyl player were amazing. Food was fantastic and staff were extremely accommodating and helpful.

If you’re looking for a spa, don’t book here
If you’re expecting a Spa, don’t bother , there isn’t one. There is a pamper room somewhere on the estate (apparently) but with no staff on site or facilities what so ever. We booked a suite , the mini bar was empty there were broken electronics in the room and card key broke several times over the 2 days. As well as this, there were stains on the carpet and the decor was in desperate need of updating. To top it off the night porter let us out for a cigarette and then locked up the building g which meant we were stuck outside in the icy weather from 11:45 pm to 1:45 in the morning and the hotel phone was set to voicemail! Other than that the other staff were lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable!

We are extremely disappointed to hear about your experience of being stuck outside - we have liaised with the team and I understand that you were compensated for this inconvenience. We are sorry to hear that you were not happy with the decor of your room - our rooms are an older, vintage style, so can only apologise that this was not to your taste. In terms of the spa facilities, we do have a treatment room on site, this is how Expedia choses to categorise the treatment rooms, and these are bookable prior to your stay via Hampton Manor Clinic. I've stayed at some amazing places, and experienced some out of this world cuisine, but this place is at another level, 15 course meal. Truly an outstanding overall experience.

Highly recommend
Unbelievable stay. Me and my wife went for a staycation and it didn’t disappoint. Food was amazing, the ambience was good. Nice and relaxing. Smoke - restaurant unbelievable and the service was very good. Only bug bear was you could hear airplanes due to the close proximity to the airport. But didn’t stop us from having a great time.
