“Would stay here again.”
Boutique hotel with a sense of flair. Very hospitable staff. Thoroughly enjoyed. about a block from the train station which is convenient also. Parkin gincluded with the room was a definite plus. Breakfast too expensive -- we ate elsewhere (find a patisserie, eg. Pauls).
“A Perfect Hotel”
The hotel staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The room was spotless and modern. The parking was conveniently located adjacent to the hotel. The hotel was centrally located and was near all the historical sites and shopping. There were many restaurants in the vicinity. I highly recommend this hotel.
“great place!”
The room was great and the service was perfect
“Definitely will recommend to others”
Very good location. Short walk to main street and old town. Very spacious room. Clean and look almost brand new. Very well decorated and love the contemporary decor.
“A great hotel”
This is a great hotel a few minutes walk from the town centre. The room was on the smaller side but the decor was excellent. The attention to detail was great - chic fittings, flat-screen tv, free mini-bar, room safe - and the staff were very friendly. A bit expensive but well worth it. And of course Aix-en-Provence is a lovely town.
“A delight in Aix-en-Provence”
We stayed at the Cezanne Hotel in Aix-en-Provence for 3 nights. It was delightful. I decided that Aix is kind of like Paris without the attitude. The hotel was within walking distance of the little local train station. Our room was of good size, very clean, and we had a lovely window to open. The hotel was having the hallway walls painted during our stay - but there was no odor. We loved the artwork on the walls and the very fun, artsy decor. Breakfast was outstanding - especially for a French hotel. The hotel's chef personally visits you at your table and inquires if she can provide one of her specialities! The first morning we had omelets filled with goat cheese, covered with Provence honey, and then lightly sauteed. Delicious!! The staff was excellent - friendly and attentive. They gave us some wonderful restaurant recommendations - which we pass along to you. Ze Bistrot's chef is young and has a 3 or 5 plat 'surprize' menu. You simply let them know what you do not or cannot eat and each course is a surprise. La Tomato Verte was another delightful restaurant with very good food. We were within easy walking distance of most everything - and truly enjoyed the Saturday market.
“Home form Home”
As a result of reading the previous reviews I went with high expectations. I was not disappointed. The friendly and helpful staff made check-in a pleasure. Our room (a luxe which is their entry level room was spacious with a large comfortable bed, bathroom with powerful shower, minibar and safe. The staff were knowledgeable about local restaurants and services. The room was kept perfectly clean. Breakfast is priced at 19 Euro which we thought to be expensive until we tried it. There is a wide choice of food on offer. Our freshly cooked smoked salmon omelette and eggs benedict were excellent. To put the cost into perspective it is around the price of a two course lunch at a so-so cafe and was an amazing meal.
“Great location, Parking, Welcoming Staff, Fantastic Beds!!”
We learned about this place from Expedia and also read some excellent reviews on other sites. Hotel Cezanne is an excellent place to stay when in Aix. The rooms were nicely appointed with modern amenities throughout including the bathroom, wireless availability, iPod Dock, etc. The availability of items from the mini-bar is a nice and unexpected treat. The location is great as it is not far from the center of Aix where everything of interest is in walking distance.
“Great hotel, location, staff...”
Great staff -- very help and perfect English. Knew the area and could recommend things to do. They do send you to restaurants in the old section which are high priced and not great. We found one a couple of blocks away in a new residential/shopping district that was reasonable and patronized by the locals. Just wander past the new apartment building you can see when you are at the main circle and you pass some shops on your way to the restaurant. Jr. Suite was clean and attractive. It did have the toilet in a VERY tiny room across the bedroom from the rest of the bathroom so you had to go back and forth. That was odd but perfectly fine. However, if you are obese or even somewhat "hefty," you will not be able to close the door. It was a squeeze for me and I'm 5'3" and 130 lbs. Location was ideal. We walked from the bus (4 blocks) and the train is just a half block away. Main street is two blocks away. There an outdoor cafe that serves reasonable pizza if you don't want to go out or a quick breakfast. We never tried the hotel breakfast -- at 19 Euros (about $25/each) it was too expensive. But if you order tea in the lounge you get a large pot for 2,50 which is what the guy next door charges for a small plastic glassful. Buy a pastry the day before and order the tea. Some of the nicer touches: caramel candies at the reception desk were great and you were encouraged to take several and on a rainy day there were umbrella at the door for you to take for the day.
“Can't wait to go back”
