“Excellent value”
Great location and a much better hotel than I expected after reading some negative reviews. The rooms are nothing fancy but more than adequate with complimentary drinks and fruit. The staff are all very friendly and helpfull and the breakfasts are excellent.Would be more than happy to stay here again.
“Liked the hotel”
Enjoyed our stay in this clean and comfortable hotel. It's in a good location for the city centre and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. The extensive breakfast menu was excellent.Would happily stay here again.
“Can't believe theres no catch!”
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in August. The location is excellent, a 5-10 minute walk from shops and restaurants and maybe 15-20 minutes walk from the centre. Its in a good area and we had no issues walking back at night. The room had fruit, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits - which I thought was excellent considering this is a budget hotel. The breakfast was great, plenty of choice. Will certainly stay again if I come back to Bristol.
“Nice hotel, friendly staff, value for money”
15 minutes walk from city centre Close to suspension bridge (highly recomended) Very helpful and friendly staff. Very good full English breakfast was included. Nice rooms en suite. Good atmosphere. Families and young people as well. Could have done with a more careful hoovering, but it was OK. If you are going to Bristol, this is a nice and value for money hotel to stay at.
“Will go back”
Very Friendly staff. Breakfast was good Parking was in a small area but adequate for our 1 week stay
“Friendly, clean and in superb Clifton Village”
I am tempted to not write a good review so as not to encourage anyone else to find this gem. Small hotel, of the type you usually find in a more interesting European location but really friendly and efficient. Breakfast is excellent and welcoming, Joann the manager was very helpful and Clifton is a great place to be located for walks, cafes and shopping. The heart of Bristol is just a turn right instead. Excelllent, plan to stay there every annual return to what was my home town before I moved to California.
“Really happy with this hotel experience”
The people at the front desk were really friendly and super helpful. Breakfast was great each day, hot and made to order with a nice variety of offerings. A small 24 hour room service menu was offered at very reasonable prices, with even a menu for pet guests available! The room was also nicely equipped with tea and coffee, a hot pot and French press, and cookies and fruit at no extra charge. It was a nice touch and was replenished daily. This is an older place but I feel it's extremely well kept and I had a really pleasant experience overall. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet also. This is not for people who feel they need a lot of extras and luxuries, but it more than does the job for a comfortable place to stay and I felt safe and well taken care of the whole time.
“Clean and good value”
Helpful and friendly at reception. Clean room, good value, friendly breakfast service. Would recommend.
“My dogs and I in Clifton”
I met many different members of staff and there were all polite and obliging. I had my two dogs with me and the hotel was very happy to accommodate them. I used the local restaurant (Racks)for an evening meal which was delivered to my room and it was delicious. There is a small car park there but my vehicle was too large to get in through the opening to it. Clifton is beautiful with wonderful buildings and many shops, a little way further is the suspension bridge, camera obscurer and zoo.
“Marvellous breakfast”
We had a quite delightful long weekend stay. Hotel is a well done conversion of adjoining houses in a Georgian terrace, plenty of daylight in our basement room. We had an immediate, helpful response from Reception which cured our complaint of noisy occupants of the room above ours. Breakfasts were beautiful, full choice of cereals, meats and cheese and the English traditional and its derivatives, excellently cooked in good portion sizes. Ideally located, walking distance from Clifton suspension bridge and the "village within the city" that is Clifton, and only a two-stops bus ride to the City centre. Limited hotel parking but unrestricted local street parking can be found, don't be impatient ! Bristol quite fascinating, don't miss S.S.Great Britain !
