“Perfectly Adequate”
I needed a low-cost hotel for a few nights; it was exactly that. It wasn't a luxury suite, but I didn't expect it to be. For the money it was perfect. Clean rooms, water pressure, A/C, courteous staff, great location. If you want luxury, pay for luxury. If you need a room for a few nights, stay here.
“Well??? You'll get what you pay for.”
Needless to say we weren't expecting a 4 star quality hotel for the price we were paying to stay at the Travelodge in Melrose Park. We pretty much expected a rundown hotel in a rundown area, but a cheap place to stay...and that's what we received. To focus on the positives, although it wasn't in a great part of town, the location is actually on a fairly decent commercial stretch along Mannheim Rd. Drive down the street and you'll find several Mexican and Italian food restaurants, a Super Target and bunch of other places to shop. You are also close to a Metra Station that'll take you to the loop, 1.6 miles to be exact. There's a subpar continental breakfast offered to you from 7-9 am, with cereal, coffee, bagels, bananas, apples and toaster waffles. It's better than nothing I guess. Free Wi-Fi is available along with a couple public desktops in the main lobby so you can hop on the web if needed to. Parking wasn't an issue too, which is a plus. You'll pay a pretty penny for parking if you're staying in a hotel downtown. Take this place for what it is. If you're looking for modern amenities and a very comfortable place to stay, keep looking. If you're trying to stay in Chicagoland on a tight budget then this probably isn't your worst option.
“DON'T EXPECT MUCH HERE”
HOTEL IS UNDER RENOVATION. VERY NOISY. WALLS PAPER-THIN. CAN HEAR PEOPLE TALKING IN NEXT ROOM. OUTSIDE ENTRANCE DOORS DO NOT COMPLETELY SHUT & LOCK. DIDN'T GET SIDE-BY-SIDE ROOMS AS REQUESTED. ROOM KEY CARD WAS INACTIVATED AFTER 1st NIGHT'S STAY EVEN THOUGH 2 NIGHTS WERE BOOKED AND PAID FOR WELL IN ADVANCE. WOULDN'T STAY HERE AGAIN EVEN WITH THE LOW PRICE
“You get what you paid for...Cheap hotel..”
I specifically chose this hotel because of the price and because each room comes with a safe box...but I had to move around to 4 differnet rooms just to get to one that didnt have something wrong with it...The maintanace sucks!
“"Not the greatest"”
Before I had arrived at the hotel, I was annoyed when they said that they do not have a complimentary service to and from the airport- even though their website states this. When I did get to my room, two lamps were missing light bulbs and the room had a strange odor ( they gave me two bulbs, and it seemed that they used dryer sheets in the air vents to freshen the air- that, to me, was tacky). If a want a hotel for just sleeping, for the price and the quiet it's not bad. There are some places to eat at nearby and you're just a simple busride ( if you didn't rent a car) to the main trainlines that will take you to the city.
“Worst Stay Ever!”
I walk into my room and sit on the bed. Looking at the wall, I followed the trail of lugees up to the top ledge of the mirror, which had three razor blades that appeared to be used for drugs. The room was not cleaned very well. The curtains about the air conditioner were cut off unevenly and not hemmed. I went to the front desk and told them about the condition of the room and they quickly gave me a new room. The room we stayed in was also not cleaned very well. There was a clog in the sink, the air conditioners vent was busted up at the top in both rooms. The back of the toilet wasn't cleaned. There was stains that could easily be removed on the walls. There was a dried up nasty lugee on the ceiling above the bed. There;s cob webs under the air conditioner. There's a spider web in the bathroom on the floor in the corner. On top of everything the continental breakfast sucked. Also, in the elevator there was a framed sign up on the wall which the glass was busted up and just sitting in the picture frame and floor.
“Not impressed at all”
THIS WAS BY FAR THE WORSE HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN. THE FRONT DESK STAFF ON THE LAST DAY OF THE STAY WAS HORRIBLE. THEY WERE NOT ATTENTIVE AT ALL, IGNORED ME COMPLETELY AS I WAS STANDING AT THE DESK. THE IRON DID NOT WORK, ONLY HAD 1 WASHCLOTH BROUGHT TO US DAILY. MUSIC WAS LOUD THROUGHOUT THE HALLS.

“Where not to stay when in Chicago!”
I found that this particular "hotel" was more of a permanent residence to many who had room doors open and personal belongings out in hallways. The residents seemed to all know each other as they were partying a good part of the night of my (and 3 traveling companion's) stay. There was no driver for a courtesy van to/from airport as promised when the booking was made, leaving us to spend $90.00 for cab rides. This was a nightmare ending to a beautiful vacation!
“Never again”
Poorly ran, poorly managed, dirty, drugs users in every room
