No breakfast in the hotel due to construction. Heating system was not working properly. It was too hot inside the hotel and overnight.

suites particularly 601are becoming a little too lived in. 601 had a half iron impression burnt into the carpet, furniture (chairs) corners are all worn, couches could be updated. A reservation for two travellers per stay should be entitled to “two” bottles of water not just one. A suite should also have the proper immentities outside a micro wave (bowls, tea towel ,cloth). We stay here quite frequently and generally love the experience, but after one month since our last stay, the one elevator is still down.

Hairs left in shower noise levels were way high special request did not get noticed hotel staff were not that happy sounding and also seemed bothered I asked for water for our room

Staff was excellent. Free VIP parking and breakfast. Only downside is that Whyte Ave is busy at night....... noise cancelling ear plugs help tho!! We have stayed here several times and will again. Close to everything!

We always enjoy staying at the Mettera, it's quiet, relaxing, the staff is exceptional. Love that the hotel offers complimentary breakfast and afternoon wine. Will definitely be back <3

Clean and friendly staff. Whyte Ave is full of great food, and we are originally from this area. Hotel was clean and rooms were nice! Only minor issue is parking. There is a couple public parking spots that are about 10-15 CAD a day. Hotel provides a valet parking to a garage about 2 blocks away for $25 a night.

Checkin staff was nice, we had valet parking which was convenient but otherwise parking would be a pain. No restaurant on site and the ones close by were very generic. Room was nice and clean, quiet during our stay. Overall good value.

The property is clean and everything is tidy and well managed. The only problem is the behavior of some staff, which could be seen in any service center, but it is minor in this hotel, and even the misbehavior of a few people is compensated by the good behavior of the majority of the staff. For example, the behavior of a lady at breakfast area which is the manager was very bad and disrespectful, but a young gentleman compensated with his humble behavior, or the behavior of a gentleman and a lady at the front desk was unbearable and inappropriate, but two or three other professional receptionists compensated. The breakfast is also good and regular, but it does not have much variety. Such a poor breakfast isn’t expected from a four-star hotel, but the rest of the things are perfect.

Staff are very nice at the hotel. Location on Whyte Ave is great if you’re in the University area. The free breakfast was a nice add. Unfortunately the rooms are quite dated and in need of full renovations. The bed consisted of a well-worn mattress on top of a platform. The vanity had seen better days. Grout in the shower had some mould. On our first night the heat was blasting into the room and would not adjust down with the thermostat. We were told that all we could do at that hour was turn off the heat and crack open the deck doors - this proved to be quite uncomfortable by morning.
