This is a nice hotel however the beds were way too hard for us. We have never had such hard mattresses and it did effect our sleep. It would be nice if the hotel had mattress toppers for people who prefer a softer mattress.

Hotel is close to the center of town without being too noisy. Easy walking distance to some of the best yatai stalls. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Big rooms with nice amenities for Japan. Excellent breakfast! Also, local made draft beer brewed in the hotel is a highlight!

This is truly a beautiful and elegant property, but the staff and level of service is what sets it apart and makes it special. The helpful and cordial service of the front desk staff was as impeccable as their appearance and grooming. After a day of travel from South Korea it was very helpful to have the doorman take my luggage to my room and adjust lighting, air conditioning. I also very much enjoyed and appreciated a delicious dinner from the hotel room service. My only regret was in not having stayed long enough to have enjoyed some of the on site restaurants and those in the surrounding neighborhood. I wish I had known there was an Okura property in Kyoto!

We first made online reservations at this hotel five years ago for our 3-week stay in Fukuoka (Japan) the summer of 2019. We chose Hotel Okura because the rooms were said to be larger compared to other hotels we’d stayed at on previous trips. When we arrived we were delighted our room far exceeded the Japan standard, but also the facility, its staff and the local area were all first class. We had found a home for our future visits! Planned trips were cancelled for several years due to Covid but finally Japan opened its door to tourists and our family was allowed to return this summer (2023) and enjoy the class and comfort of the Hotel Okura and the wonderful city of Fukuoka!!

5 star service and accommodation The hotel is gorgeous! The lobby and all common areas are lavish and inviting. You can access the hotel directly from the subway, so it’s easy and convenient to find. Our room was big and beautifully decorated. We had nice sized twin beds with crisp linens and even pressed pajamas to wear! Cute origami swans on the pillows! The bathroom had every product you might need. Toto toilet, deep bathtub, great shower. Air conditioning was perfect! Breakfast buffet was very satisfying. The staff here are really attentive, friendly and polite. I would be thrilled to stay here again!

In general, the overall rating is 9.6/10. Location: Hotel location is great. It is close by the subway station which is two stops away from the Hakata Station. You can walk to the hotel underground. There are lot of restaurants around the area within walking distances. Check-in: Check-in was fast. Condition: Lobby is grand. Room condition is well maintained. Comfort: Room and washroom are a bit small but it is clean. Staff: Staff are helpful and polite. Some of them speak extremely well English in which is rare to find in Fukuoka. Definitely would recommend this hotel to others.

Probably the grandest lobby we've ever seen
Very nice hotel, well located in Hakata. Glorious lobby and friendly professional staff. The rooms and corridors are starting to show their age a bit, but overall a very nice establishment.
