“Good, decent hotel”

We stayed here over night for a bike race. Clean, close to everything we needed, close to Gainesville. Rooms were available even on a Gator football weekend. Cheaper alternative than staying in Gainesville.

“Comfortable Night”

The motel was clean and convienent to the nearby town of Gainesville, FL. It was clean and the staff was very friendly.

“Econolodge is OK”

Pool needed cleaning; staff was supportive but didn't have the crib we requested. The AC worked well, though a bit loudly. TV remote didn't work; they provided a replacement. Breakfast was as promised.

“Use only for something closeby.”

I always feel cheated when I pay 30-40% more than a room is really worth because there's a major event on that weekend, in this case the Gatornationals. Probably 2/3 of the customers were going to the race, and the motel simply took advantage to charge a lot more then they would normally. Fool me once.......

“Good location, bad service”

We recently stayed at this Econo Lodge on a trip to Gainesville. The Hotel Room was rather musty and not well maintained. Had to air it out when we arrived. Carpet was very dark and dingy. Dead german cockroaches greeted us when we walked through the threshhold of the room. When we checked into our hotel room, there were only two towels. My wife uses one for her hair and one for her body, so I was left with none! I went downstairs and asked if we could get another towel or two. And although I was standing in front of a maid's cart with freshly laundered towels on it, the girl said plainly "No." I looked at the towels on the cart and looked back at her, and she seemed to feel obligated to explain, "We have alot of rooms to make up and don't have enough to go around". They recommended that I check back later in the day or evening. I checked back twice (afternoon and evening) and received the same answer. The staff here was very unfriendly, bordering on rude. We will never stay at this hotel again, and would definately not recommend it to other travellers.

“Poor Management”

When I checked in at approximately 1:15am, the women running the office could not figure out how to apply the Expedia credit from my online booking thus requiring me to pay again with my credit card. The parking lot was completely full due to 4 or 5 vehicles with trailers parked sideways and occupying roughly 25 spaces thus leaving NOWHERE for me (or other late arrivers) to park. I ended up parking along the edge of the parking lot near the dumpster. At about 3 in the morning, my family and I were awakened by a knock on the door. One of the guests with one of the vehicle/trailers (in this case a 26' box truck towing a car on a trailer) was attempting to navigate the rather narrow parking lot (made even narrower by others that did not get a parking space like myself) and my car happened to be in his way. After I moved my car, the driver of the truck managed to clip (and severely damage) at least 2 guests cars. Needless to say, with all the ensuing commotion, my family and I got almost no sleep the rest of the night. In the morning, the manager of the hotel was very uncaring and short with me related to the events of the previous night and was agitated by the fact that she had to correct the errors made by the women who messed up our check-in process the night before. She was not willing to make any concession to me whatsoever for our horrible night at this hotel. This, by far, was the worst experience I have EVER had in a motel.
