“welcome stopover.”
very happy with hotel and staff, very helpful, would certainly stay again.
“Good value accommodation”
This was our first Campanile and assume it to be of corporate group standard. We were favourably impressed: newish build, pleasant, helpful staff, clean rooms, adequate size bathroom with good over-bath shower and functioning fittings (inc. kettle, but no hairdryer provided), comfortable double bed of decent size (5 ft?), which did however limit free room space. Due to availability, we booked into a triple room for the first night and discovered this to be no larger than a standard double, with an under-bed pullout divan. No extra space for the extra charge, and just how three people would fit...!! Buffet breakfast may be considered a little pricey, but conveniently provided a good range of decent food. The restaurant fare and facilities were generally most acceptable. This Hotel is about 15 minutes brisk walk south of Nimes railway station, so is OK for transport less couples who do not mind a good walk to Nimes centre. Otherwise it is near a ring road and is presumably sited with drivers in mind. Suitable, to our minds, for business types, short stays for active couples and car drivers seeking good-value accommodation.
“Warm and Friendly Service”
If you are interested in the Roman ruins and happen to end up staying at the Campanile Nimes Mas Carbonnel(CNMC), you are in for a treat! My friends and I stayed here on our world wind tour of France. CNMC is located away from the city center, where all the tourist attractions are, but don't let that fool you. Every place in Nimes is a short walk away. From CNMC to the arena was only 15 minutes. CNMC from the train station was 10 minutes. We chose the CNMC because it was fairly inexpensive, but I was really surprised by the warmth and eagerness of the staff to help us. We stayed in Nimes at CNMC for three days. The first day there was an English speaking person at the front desk, but for the next too days I found only French speaking staff early in the morning. However, with the limited French at my disposal, I was able to ask them to book reservations for me at the Pont du Gard to go canoing. They were also very helpful in obtaining information on schedules of trains and buses for the area. You can also obtain this information at the train station or tourism office. But it was nice to know that the staff at the hotel were more than willing to help you look these things up, especially if you spoke very little French.
“Very nice”
A spare but comfortable room ideal for short stays. Close to amenities and the train station.
“value for money”
Good budget hotel. basic but clean and had a comfy bed. about 15mins walk to the old town.
“Too far out of the city”
The hotel is way out of the city - in the wrong direction. The service we received was unfriendly and the room we were put in was like that of a roadside motel, rather than in the hotel building itself. Having said that the room itself was clean and comfortable.
“Value for money hotel”
You get what you pay for, very good value for money if you are looking for a night stop in Nimes. Wouldn't necessarily choose it as a 'holiday' hotel but if you are passing through on business or on a road trip you cannot complain. Rooms are clean and comfortable, good showers. The only real negative are the windows, as it is a 'motel' style hotel on 3 to 4 floors they face onto the walkways where guests pass by so you naturally keep the blinds down to avoid people staring in - therefore there is no natural light or view, for that matter.
