“I took 23 family and friends to the Qualton and will do it again”
We were at the Qualton last June with our grandchildren and enjoyed it so much that we returned in December with 11 family members and 12 friends. Our age range was 15 to 69. We all loved it and all have expressed a desire to return. I have taken hundreds of people on different kinds of programs to Costa Rica, Spain and Mexico. Never have I encountered a staff so kind, friendly, hardworking and fun from the management to the front desk, the restaruants, the bars, room service and maintenance. What a remarkable array of naturally nice people. The Qualton is the best buy in Mexico. As others have stated, it is not luxury, but there is very little about which to complain. (Come on guys, the beds are hard in all beach hotels.) With 23 of us we had a great advantage for travel--we hired a first-class Estrella de Oro bus to take us anywhere we wanted to go as a group for 1/2 the cost of taxis. Overall, our week was a splendid experience.
“gorgeous place - great staff”
The hotel grounds were immaculate and lush and gorgeous. Pool and ocean were great. Rooms were simple, but clean and well kept. Beds were not at rock hard as often expected in foreign countries. Here's the catch. Don't go in June!! It's rainy season. I was there for 7 days and nights and it literally rained every hour with the exception of 3 hours on one day when it was overcast but not raining. I'm not talkin' a drizzle here, but a full blown tropical storm. My room flooded (and it was on the second floor). I did not step one little toe into the wonderful pool with the swim up bar - not once... because of rain rain rain. Hotel staff extremely nice and since it only rains once a year for a month, they were all happy to see the rain. Food is just okay - but I never was hungry and some meals were better than others. Learn a little spanish - it helps. Very few American tourists. A lush beautiful area.
“Great for a relaxful vacation”
We were very leary when we booked this hotel because of some of the terrible reviews we found. Though the hotel is older, it is well maintained (except the jacuzzi pool does not work) and very clean. Rooms could use updating, especially the bathrooms, but they add to the relaxing charm of the resort. Everyone was very helpful and the staff was attentive. Food was good and plentiful; we never went hungry. Because of the location of the resort, the beach is almost private. Best vacation I've had; very stress-free and relaxing.
“Great deal for All inclusive!”
Everyone is very friendly and they try to accommodate! Nice shows every nite! And if ya missed Dinner, you can always order room service! The rooms were always beautifully decorated by the local flowers, the maids are very artistic. Unfortunately, if you drink Corona Beer, don't expect a bottle, it's on tap! But what do you want for all Inclusive, Guacamole is to die for - very fresh!!
“very good hotel on Ixtapa, Mexico”
verything was fine!
“Definitely a place to stay!”
This is an under rated hotel. The service is exceptional from the moment you arrive to the time you depart. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Food is plentiful(24-7) and good (if you go hungry it's because you choose too). Plenty to drink, wether spirited or not. All staff go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Tip accordingly, they really earn it! Attractions and activities are bountiful...do not miss going to Ixtapa Island. A great place to travel and stay with the whole family. This hotel is at the top of my list when we return.
“Excellent holiday value”
Delicious food, very professional evening entertainment (not to be missed), well-kept pools and grounds and excellent service from bar tenders. This "all-inclusive" is really all-inclusive and an excellent holiday value with great weather at Easter. The only negative is that we found the beds to be too hard.
“plan to go back next year”
We have been at the Qualton the past three years and have envoyed it very much. this year the food has hone down hill, especially the breakfast. As an example the would have a pan of French Toast with no heat. Last two years once in a whild you could get a piece of bascon but this year some times just some chips. This year at sundown the mosquitoes took over.
“Excellent value and wonderful area to unwind”
My wife and I went here with our two best friends. Don't expect the hotel to be a 5 star resort. Expect clean rooms (we had flower and towel animal arrangements almost every day) with firm beds. Expect good buffet style food. Breakfast was always good. The mexican buffet night was the best dinner. Expect well maintained, lush grounds. The recreational equipment (Kayaks, bikes, snorkeling gear) was in pretty good shape. The evening shows are pretty good most nights. The walks on the beach, snorkling, and jet skiing are the best. If you go with a laidback attitude not expecting perfection you will certainly enjoy this place.
“The Best for the money”
I know its a two star hotel but its very good. the people its too nice, the food its ok, and the hotel its in good shape.
