“GREAT HOTEL, GREAT LOCATION, GREAT CITY, GREAT COUNTRY!”
From the waitstaff to the owner, everyone was extremely hospitable and nice. Will go back there FOR SURE!
“Serves the purpose”
Older hotel and you have to like jaco. Attitude counts. In a beach town why spend time indoors? The upstairs sports bar was great at the end of the PM. Good food with outside seating , service was very personal. We had fun!
“good value, great people”
Very high level of service and comfort. Particularly nice staff. Nice resident iguana. Loud late disco next door may bother some people. Fine restaurant. Free coffee 7-10. Excellent location for nearby activities.
“good place”
we were very happy with this.
“Hotel Had Many Improvements”
I have stayed here before and the place has been dramatically upgraded since my last visit. They are in the process of remodeling all of the rooms and the one I stayed in was beautiful. The matress was new and I had a great nights sleep. The bathroom lighting and look of the bathroom was greatly improved. The staff is still very friendly and helpful with tours and any information I requested. The restaurant is still the best in town! I've never gotten such a large Tuna steak, it's the best I've ever eaten. The air conditioned sports bar upstairs is a great place to get away from the heat and relax with other travelers I met at the hotel.
“in the middle of everything”
The employees were friendly and very helpful. They gave good advise on tours. The food was great. And had lots of laughs in their sports bar. They had everything you need to be happy. Shopping was very close and I would recommend them to everyone.

I had ribs one night for dinner and they were perfect ( just falling off the bone ) the kitchen is really good -weather for breakfast ,lunch or dinner . I cant wait to return !!!!!!
“Enjoyed my stay”
The 15 room hotel is small, but very comfortable. The employees are very helpful and friendly. The free continental breakfasts are great, fresh fruit and local coffee. I would definitely go back.
“Lovely hotel - small, warm and clean”
My husband and I and our two children stayed at this hotel in December and it was perfect for our needs. The rooms were spotlessly clean with excellent air conditioning, TV and DVD player with movies to rent for $2 at the front desk. The pool was small but very clean and we had it to ourselves almost every day. The staff were professional and very helpful and the food at the attached restaurant was the best, by far, in town. We wish we had eaten there everyday. It is not an overly fancy place but despite being right in the middle of town and close to the beach it was extremely quiet at night and very restful. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
“Awesome! If you are in Jaco stay here!”
Hotel Poseidon is fantastic! The room was beautiul and the staff was friendly and efficient. Both the hotel room and property were VERY clean and well maintained. The bathroom was spacious and the shower pressure and water temperature contol was great. The air-conditioning worked so well we had to turn it off in the middle of the night because we were cold! The food was delicious (continental breakfast was very fresh and tasty, great coffee) and the Internet connection was reliable. The maid service was great and quick. We had plenty of clean towels. They even folded my clothes! I felt that the room was secure and we trusted the safe. TV was clear w/ plenty of channels. All The staff was bilingual and very helpful when arranging tours and transportation. Staff, guests, and restaurant customers were always happy and smiling. The stray dogs in Jaco are sweet and the Tico's do a great job caring for them. Say Hi to Stinky the one eyed dog! Jaco first appears a bit rough, but it turned out to be safe and pleasant. Be careful swiming in the ocean the current is STRONG! We felt safe leaving our towels on the pretty black sand beach while swimming. I highly recommend Hotel Poseidon. I would stay there again and was sad to leave. It is a perfect spot for new travelers who may be feeling nervous to travel abroad. The hotel will put an anxious traveler at ease and inspire them to travel beyond US borders more. CR is full of beauty and wonderful people. I can not wait to return!
