“Nice, small and cozy hotel with Excellent view of Mehrangarh fort”
The Rooms are well maintained, and will give you a feeling of leaving in a heritage hotel. The paintings on the walls are not old ones, but are authentic Rajasthani paintings done afresh. The View from hotel terrace is magnificent. You could see (I would rather say "Feel") the Mehrangarh fort right above your head. Food is good; specifically Mutton Items are very good.
“nice hotel right in the center of things”
This is a lovely hotel in a smelly, dirty city, near the action with great views. The staff is warm and helpful. We booked a jeep trip through the manager and it was great--good car, wonderful, intelligent driver. There are lots of stairs, so this is a hotel for the fit. If you need a break from the chaos of India, this is not the hotel for you, but if you love the contrasts, colors and smells, go for it.

I picked this hotel because it's near the fort. Excellent view of the fort from the hotel's roof, and a nice, short walk up hill to the fort from the hotel. I told the manager that I needed to check out early in the morning (5am) to get to the train station and everything worked out smoothly.

“Great location but little else”
Location at the foot of the fort made for great photos. But rooms were very small and noisy at night. Food was below par.Two members of our group suffered stomach upsets the night we checked in, ruining most of our Day 1 plans. Despite the hotel website and my expedia booking stating that breakfast was included , we were refused complimentary breakfast. When I presented printouts of Expedia's confirmation of the same, the hotel manager said he was not aware who had confirmed it, and that we will still need to pay. Since there is no decent alternative in the neighborhood, I said I will pay for breakfast (priced at Rs.175 per head for a paltry, lukewarm fare), but will post my experience about it on Expedia and Traveladvisor websites. Two hours later the manager called to say that they had contacted " Expedia personnel in Delhi, and Expedia had offered to pay for our breakfasts" (!), and thus we need not pay. We cannot ascertain whether that was the truth - but were glad that Expedia's name made the difference.
“Don't use ever!”
We were shocked by the whole place. This was not 3 star at all. We do feel that the staff need training in the basics and the whole place needs a shake up from management down. Food was abysmal.
