“Nice place to stay in Kakudu”
Very nice place to stay, in a relatively remote location. If given the option, book the breakfast buffet with your room; it is an exceptional array of food.
“Crocodile Hotel at Jabiru”
Excellent service and a teriffice family holiday-very pleasant hotel and staff!
“Good”
One of the best considering it is in Jabiru.
“Can't wait to go back”
Great hotel
“All good in Jabiru”
Perfectly fine hotel. Nothing amazing, but pretty good.
“Where were the crocodiles?”
We enjoyed our stay at the Crocodile Hotel - considering we didn't don't drive and had no car access to travel to the tourist spots of Kakadu like Ubirr and Nourlangie Rocks. We'd recommend tours that are under the 12 or 13 hr average - that's a very long time for people to be out in the heat. Hotel is smack bang in the centre of the small town, across the street from supermarket and bakery. Internet is reasonable at $2 for 20 minutes. Meals were overpriced - $28 for breakfast and over $40 for dinner. Beds were comfortable, TV large, and beautiful aboriginal paintings on walls. The walk to and fro reception was long despite the beautiful local artwork (that you can purchase for around $1000) on the walls. Getting to and fro room on arrival and checkout was hard with an elderly person and lots of bags and backpacks as it's a long hotel - in the shape of a crocodile. We never got to see any crocodile or much wildlife due to no car and unsuitable tours. On the upside again, the pool area is a quiet oasis area to laze away a hot afternoon on sunlounges and have a refreshing dip in the cool water.
“first timers in Jabaru”
Terrific staff. Great service. Clean and cool which is great for tthe tropics. If I had any criticism t would be tthe pool area needs updating.
“Not much choice”
There really isn't much choice to stay in any other hotels in this area and so there is no competition. If there was ( and this area is well worth a visit) then this hotel would really need to improve to stay in business. Rooms etc were ok, a few things didn't work properly but the staff tried to put it right. It wasn't their fault that it was 2am or that there would be a full scale fire alert during dinner the next night and again at 3am!! BUT the dining room and staff need greater improvement. The dining room had no warm ambience . It was like a school dining hall, cold , vast and echoey. The waiting staff couldn't cope, people were kept waiting for food and the waiter who showed us to our table was scruffy and wearing a dirty stained shirt - not good.
“SB, Melbourne”
The hotel was disappointingly not up to international standards - it is dated and the restaurant was a shambles. We ate dinner there twice (second time only because everything in the small town of Jabiru was closed over Easter) and both times we had to wait 30-40 mins to either be seated despite 10+ empty tables or to order a drink let alone food. The restaurant was not busy, just very poorly run. The actual hotel rooms were good though - very comfortable bedroom but dated bathrooms. The hotel just needs to get some of the basics right and it would be so much improved.
“Too expensive, poor service”
The hotel is the only place to stay in Jabaru, the food and drink were outrageous and then if you have the audacity to use a credit card to pay, they slug you another 1.5pct on the way out. You don't have a lot of choices if you want aircondtioning and they know it. They did not even change the sheets during our stay.
