“Bakkara Art Hotel”
Very nice comfortable hotel on the Dnipro river. A taxi ride to the city centre UAH70 or metro is close by. Restaurant was nice and breakfast good. Also close by is a Turkish restaurant with good food. Would stay again.
“Great surpise .”
Hidden in back street gem! Room good size and very comfortable. Staff extremely helpful. Food at breakfast supplied very good. Some confusion regarding what shuttle supplied ( led to believe available if called upon arrival, but only for those with 3 day stay) but van service not that costly. Would definitely recommend and return!
“Truly a gem in Kiev”
Having travelled to Russia and Ukraine many times, this hotel was a refreshing change for the better. It is modern, clean and the staff were fairly friendly - a rarity in the FSU!!! It is a floating cruise ship moored to the dock - there is no sense of motion at all but it lent a atmosphere you would not get from any other hotel. Definitely opt for the "river view" as it is a treat and well worth the extra charge. The only negative is the steep and long stairs down to the hotel from the parking area, with no way to get your luggage up and down but to carry it. At 3am, the hotel porter is not available! All in all, this is the best hotel - or "floatel" as they call it - that I have stayed in in the FSU. Highly recommended!!!
“Very friendly staff.”
The staff at the Hotel Bakkara Floatel was very friendly. They were able to allow an early checkin for my girlfriend and were very accommodating to us during our stay. I had a Birthday while staying at the hotel and they gave me a surprise birthday cake in our room with a nice birthday greeting card. The room was very comfortable with a view of the river from the balcony. The breakfast buffet was excellent. I would recommend this hotel highly.
“A Wonderful Experience”
I was a little nervous about my trip to Ukraine but the helpful staff in particular the Porter, Greigoriey (don't know if that's correct spelling) was excellent. I had some problems figuring out how the lights worked and left my key in the slot more than once and had to get another one and he was just very nice and understanding. One of the bartenders, Roma, was a lot of fun to talk to. He isn't perfect in his English but he trys and is very nice as well. The girls at the front desk were also very helpful. If your a guy then you need to go to the strip club downstairs. I had a blast there. It's walking distance to the Metro station to go anywhere. The breakfast was great too. A little different but good. The only negative I can say is the prices for bottled water was pretty high. You'd be better off walking down the street to the little tent and buy it there and put in your fridge in the room. I met a lot of english speaking folks there, had lots of great conversations and some good drinking partners. The Ukraine has the most beautiful women in the world and I've been around. I will definately stay there again!

I loved this hotel. Breakfast was really good and staying on Dniepr was an amazing experience! Little far from the city centre, but recommended nevertheless.

I travel a lot in the former eastern block and former soviet union. The further east you go the more likely you are to end up staying in a stalinist pile. In contrast this hotel has western standards, great sized rooms, very clean, excellent service. There s little sense of being on a boat unless you look out on your balcony. I doubt that you'll find a hotel of this standard in Kiev unless you booked into a Hyatt or similar. Downsides - slightly out of the centre of town. You could walk but probably would not want to. However it s less than 5 mins from a metro and then another 5 mins and you are in the city centre. If I was being very pedantic... should have more than 8 cable TV channels.
“Would stay here again.”
One of the most important things for me this trip was English speaking staff. The staff was very good, both at the front desk and in the restaurant. Very nice breakfast buffet. There is an atm right in the lobby, very helpful. The desk was staffed 24 hours per day. Wireless internet worked well. Next time, I would pay the extra for a river view room. Good with wake up calls and calling for a taxi. I would stay there again.
“GREAT!!!!”
Very friendly and helpful staff, awesome complete view of the river and the feeling that you are right on the water. A stunning location, good breakfast, great fast free wifi in the room. It was just what I needed as a quiet relaxing weekend before a long week of work and I didn't even leave the hotel! The bed was very comfortable and the decor was very classy. I felt so comfortable there. The only downside was that you can hear people talking and moving around in the rooms next door (obviously not very good sound proofing). I will definitely stay there again!
“Great hotel, more than I expected”
A Western-style hotel, which is a good contrast with some other Kyiv hotels in the same price range. Very helpful staff, nicely decorated and clean rooms, conveniently within a 10-minute walk to the subway station. Breakfast is especially good. Tip - some taxi drivers don't know the place, even by address, so you'll need to tell them it's close to the Metro bridge.
