“will definately return”
Excellent value, staff in the hotel realy helpful and speak excellent English. The food is lovely and good value. The hotel is 10 - 15 mins walk from the old market square ( about 12 zlotes / 4 quid in a taxi ) All staff very accomodating.
“Week at the Chopin”
I recently returned from a week in Krakow and found the Chopin met my needs well. The rooms were on par size wise with most European hotels and the staff was superb; all had a good knowledge of English and were able to answer my questions about the best ways to get around Krakow. The maid staff even came up to my room at 5 PM after I had forgotten to take the Do Not Disturb sign off the door that morning and asked if I needed the room cleaned. The included breakfast had the usual assortment of breads, eggs, and various meats that did not start to get old until about day 4. The main types of people I saw using the hotel were business types for their conference rooms and the over-65 tour bus groups. The roundabout construction I had read about was finished before my stay, so to access the tram station I exited the hotel, hung a left, went down a new escalator, and there I was. If you are into organized tours, the major operators in Krakow stop outside the Chopin and will drop you off after, just make sure to purchase your tickets from the front desk. Conversely, if you're like me and prefer to create your own excursions, the main bus stop is easily accessed from the first westbound tram stop. On the way out, the hotel's private taxi ran about the same as the radio taxi from the airport.
“Good Value for Money”
Really not far from the city centre, this is a comfortable place to stay if nothing special. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was slightly small but comfortable and clean. the area is not the most attractive in Krakow, but always felt safe and was handy for all major attractions.
“Good value”
This hotel is located three tram stops from the old town. It is very convienent and accessible to the main sites of Krakow and the hotel staff is friendly and offers tour deals of various sights for interested guests. For travelers who are not sure what they want to visit and see this is a helpful service and requires very little thought. Only catch is tours must be paid for in cash but they accept Euros, US Dollars in addition to Zlotys.
“Good value”
My double bed hotel room was clean and comfortable. The complementary buffet had a lot of variety and was quite fulfilling. My only complaint is that I constantly smelled cigarette smoke in my room even though the rooms connected to mine were non-smoking rooms.
“A lovely city break”
Nice city break hotel situated only 2 tram stops from the old town. Ample buffet breakfast and nice bar area for a night cap. Only slight down point was that the rooms are quite small and only have single beds, no doubles. Very easy to get around the city from its location due to a very good transport system of trams and buses situated within a couple of minutes walk from the front of the hotel. Would recommend that for 10.4 Zlotty, you buy a 24 hour pass for multiple tram rides to any destination around the city. At the time of going this represented £2.50p. Nice people and a very clean city. For a short break I would certainly recommend it.

The food and drink seemed to run out very quickly at breakfast resulting in long queues at times.
“Close to city”
Unfortunately, I had to move to 3 different rooms to be able to get the wireless internet to work in my room. At first, they treated me like I was some kind of nut. Then they came and realized that they too had the same problem.
“hotel parking is exspensive”
The chopin hotel is in a perfect area to view krakow. If you drive there, dont use a route planner to find the hotel, stop and buy a city map and you will find a straight link from the motorway through the centre to the hotel and then just do the same when you leave.Also the car park at the hotel is not owned by the hotel and it costs about 10 pounds per 24 hours, which is a rip off, however it has 24 hour watchmen and they were very helpfull. Dont drive anywhere yourself unless its after 10pm as the traffic is very bad and the other road users are mental.Just get a taxis from outside the hotel as they are super cheap and most of the drivers are very helpfull if you can explain as much as you can in polish, not all of them understand english. Unfotunately for me, 40 meters infront of the hotel they are building a huge section of road and tram line with some sort of historic walls of a building in the middle of the building site. it was very noisy from 6 to 7am with pile drivers etc, however it was fairly quiet from 9pm onwards. the hotel breakfasts were awesome and the staff were helpfull and krakow is a most beautifull city, i will go back again and i will probably drive it again as it will be better the second time round.
