“Great experience in Japan.”
This Hotel was very good. Location was within walking distance to many attractions. Public transportation was near. I would recommend this hotel to others.
“Here it was pleasant to me”
Fine quiet place near to the underground
“Very comfortable beds”
A great hotel in Kyoto. Good location a minute walk from the subway. About a ten minute walk from the main shopping street. Room was very clean and well decorated. And the bed was amazingly comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel!!
“small room the only drawback of this prime location hotel”
Great hotel for the price and location ( 2 minutes from karasuma oike station which allows you to take both subway lines). Staff was great, spoke some English. Buffet was slightly expensive but worth it for the western style food and convenience. Close to shopping, many restaurants, and running path/river is about 1km away. Rooms (semi-double for 2 people) was very small but have nice clean bathrooms and comfortable bed.
“I would go back”
We liked the location near the subway in the centre. Good buffet breakfast , and kaiseki on the 2nd floor restaurant was great after intense days of sightseeing and a lot of walking. For those who need espresso - we found starbucks in 6-7min by foot on Karasuma street (south For our 1st visit to Japan (Kyoto) it had everything we needed and more for budget travel.
“Great, comfortable hotel, close to attractions with lots to offer”
This hotel was great! Our room with delux twins was a good size, the beds were comfortable, things were clean, the TV was large and clear, we even had a nice city view! The subway was just off the main street and we were walking distance to downtown, the Imperial Palace, Nijo Castle, etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again!
“Great location”
Very good value for a weekend stay. Walking distances to major attractions.
“Great Place to Use As Your Homebase”
We stayed at the Hearton based on a previous review from another Expedia traveler. The nearby subway station was a few stops to the Kyoto Station, from where one can take the local and bullet train to almost anywhere for day trips. We used the Hearton as our homebase, and traveled to Hiroshima, Osaka, Nagoya, Nara using the bullet and local trains. The combo pass for using the subway and buses in Kyoto saved us some money. The Japan Railway (JR) pass saved us well over $1500 for two of us. We used the JR pass for both the bullet and local trains. Frommer's travel guide to Japan was superb, as it gave us a lot of good information on places and how to get there by train, subway or bus. The all-day passes, the knowledge of the trains that circle the cities are extremely cost effective to visit many of the sites. The all day passes to trains that circle the city allows you to hop off and on these train at many of the interesting sites. Be aware of where you want to go on these trains, as one train goes clockwise, and the other, goes counterclockwise. Trains that circle the city can take an hour to complete the full circle, as it does in Tokyo and Osaka. There are buses that also circle the city for tourists.
“Good Quality for a Good Price”
My husband and I stayed here for a short holiday. This is a conveniently located hotel. Very clean and spacious. Some of the staff were friendlier than others, but I found people in Tokyo to be friendlier in general. The rooms were quite big for Japan and had plenty of amenities. The buffet breakfast was wonderful with a lot of variety. It was very handy that we could buy two- and one-day sightseeing tickets at the front desk and also get a bus map. I found this to be helpful in planning our trip. I would recommend this to anyone who thinks they can see multiple sights in one day. As if you are travelling on the bus and trains a lot, it will definitely be worth it to buy sightseeing tickets.
“Great Bargin in Kyoto!”
Great hotel at a great price! Centrally located to many sites and transportation system!
