“very comfortable hotel in intra”
I was here for a full week to ride my bike near lago di maggiore. Very nice hotel and staff. Great breakfast. I would go back.
“Fabulous breakfast”
This was the best hotel we stayed in during a month-long vacation in England, Croatia, and Italy. The breakfast was the best yet, the staff was friendly and extremely helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. In addition to free wireless internet access, there was an computer terminal available for guests to use free of charge. A secure parking garage is available, though there is a charge for using it.
“Excellent hotel”
This is a fantastic hotel. Rooms are great and the staff are extremely helpful. Breakfast is very good. Worth booking a delux room. It is conveniently located opposite the ferry port in Intra, Verbania. (If getting the bus from the train station might be worth asking the driver to tell you when you are in Intra as we got off too early.) Intra is small. You can walk to Pallanza in about 30 mins. Cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. One of the best I have stayed in.
“A Small Gem”
Our three week trip to Italy began really at the Ancora. What a surprise when we crossed the lake on the ferry and pulled up to the hotel in our rental. Great location looking out to the lake. Near to grocery stores, stores and banks. One of the best breakfasts we had in Italy.
“A fine choice in Verbania”
Very nice small hotel right on Lago Maggiore. We had a room in the back which was very quiet. The air conditioning was not as effective as it could have been so that knocked the comfort rating down somewhat. A very nice breakfast was included. The staff made excellent dining recommendations. There's a supermarket nearby.
“A lovely hotel”
This was a lovely clean comfortable hotel. The only drawback was lack of parking and the busy road at the front.
“Comfortable Hotel”
I would highly recommend this hotel. Centrally located and pedestrian friendly. Breakfast was good rooms were clean and comfortable. Parking could be tricky but it is possible.
“Basic, but good”
Good small hotel directly in front of the Lake Maggiore, with beautiful views (especially sunrise) and excellent access to shopping in downtown Intra. Staff is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.
“Good location for a short stay”
Stay was comfortable. Great access to ferries for the Lake and the Borommeo islands, and the Centovalli tour to Locarno. Style is a little 90s but a decent sized room and comfortable bed. Nice littel touches like bathrobes, slippers, complimetary water and 'aperitivos' for guests - although Intra has many great little cafe bars for apertivos and excellent restaurants (just walk the back streets). Breakfast here is the best I've had in Italy - as they don't really do breakfast. Loved the Lake and everyone was friendly. Don't believe that Intra is boring form other guide books! It is a great base if you dont have much time and a bit cheaper than Pallanza. Only let down - the mouldy shower recess - let the rest of the bathroom down which was clean and a good standard.
“Quiet location. Friendly staff. Rather basic.”
This family-run hotel is located closed to Alba, Piemont. 5 minutes car drive. Quiet location in flat fields. Not very scenic. Very friendly staff. Rooms are ok for the price. Some rooms have a connection door to the next room. In case you get such a room make sure that the other room is not occupied (doors not soundproof). There is currently some construction ongoing close to the swimming pool, so the pool ambience is a bit industrial. Would recommend hotel only for a stop-over ion the Alba region.
