Many offer private balconies overlooking the street or pool (not guaranteed). Italian designer linens and bathrobes, and designer toiletries add an elegant touch.

“Old Hollywood”
I loved the character and ambience of the hotel. I had read in some of the other reviews that some were not happy with their experience at the hotel, but it was everything I looked for and expected.
“Beautiful with a retro feel”
It is a beautiful hotel, the rooms are very small unless you upgrade. The pool area is beautiful and the restaurant is great. The staff is very friendly. The location is nice, safe and quiet, close to Beverly and Rodeo Drive. Two annoying things: valet parking is $30 a day, and there is no alternative because street parking is prohibited, the other thing is they charge for wifi...$12.00 a day...you feel a little nickeled and dimed at the end of your stay.
“Thumbs up for the Avalon”
The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The food at the hotel was very good and the atmosphere around the pool was relaxing and inviting. We could see how popular the dining around the pool was with locals as well as the guests who stayed at the hotel. The location was perfect, within walking distance to many things. I will stay at the Avalon again and will reccomend it to others.

“clean, hip, pretty, but room was very small”
room was small but that's my only complaint. . loved the in-room toiletries (high-end). . valet service quick and friendly. . parking was expensive ($30) but that's normal for this area
“Very Nice”
Very nice hotel convenient to Beverly Hills, Hollywood,and the beaches. Rooms were large and very clean. Loved the "retro" decor.

Cool, great service, clean, pool area for magazine pictures, concierge was great, he would get for you pretty much anything you needed. Bar, room service, in-room amenities include DVD player, home theater audio system, beds were great... Well, we had a great time and no only "would" go back there but more like we are adopting this hotel for our stays in LA. Oh, by the way location is great and please don't spoil the place with children, definitely not a place for anyone under 21. Only con parking is expensive.

i enjoyed staying in the avalon hotel. Staff was very very helpful. They made me and my friend feel extremlly happy. Everything is waling distance, i walked every where.

funky, charming atmostphere, very friendly staff, good location...we booked at the last minute, so we lucked out with our rate. there were 3 of us, so we had to get a rollaway bed (no 2-bed rooms available), but the staff was very accomodating about it. would definitely visit this hotel again!
