“Very Comfortable Hotel”
I very much enjoyed this hotel...and the price was very reasonable. It was a bit noisy as the doors close loudly but many rooms had a fan in them to provide white noise. Since the rooms do not have air conditioning, I wonder how it would be during the summer time.
“Overall very nice but renovation is ongoing”
Good location, very friendly staff; the hotel is under renovation (this is why I give the condition a 2) - new rooms are small but very nice design - modern; heated floor in the bathroom, nice shower, comfortable bed, large flatscreen TV (but only CNN and Eurosport in English);large breakfast buffet. Internet access works well in rooms - not so well in the lobby, but there is a 10 euro/day fee from the rooms. There is still a mild new construction smell in the newly renovated rooms and construction starts early in the morning (7:30 or so) if you are staying on a floor on which not all rooms are finished. I will stay there again next time I'm in Duisburg but the smell bothered some of my colleagues. Once the renovation is done, I will give it a 5.
“Will return in the future....”
I was in Dusseldorf on business. The location was great. Both rail stations were very close, resturants, shopping, and casino are across from the hotel. Hotel located across the street from the old German Opera house. Nice area. Rooms were clean, service was good. Wireless internet very spotty.
“OK in a city with little competition.”
3rd floor lift access out of order for a whole week. No soap in the shower soap dispenser. Only 2 hangers in the closet. A grand old lady, who's let herself go a bit.
