“Holiday Weekend Vacation 2011”

The hotel staff was very friendly, we requested a 1st floor due to the dog we had with us is unable to go up and down steps due to age and leg issues. Bed was a little too soft and both me and my husband require a firm mattress. Overall the stay was very nice. It was nice that they offered free coffee/juice and muffins/bagels in the am. (a nice morning pick me up.) We would use this motel again since it is pet friendly and would need to have a dog with us on our trip.

“perfect location”

I was in that area primarily to see my son's football game in Lynchburg...15 miles away, but the Appomattox location was the best for me since I also wanted to take advantage of the trip and visit historical sites @ the Civil War. I was very close to Appomattox Court House National Park and still had plenty of time to visit sites in Lynchburg. The drive between the towns was quik and direct. The Super 8 served a very good breakfast and there was a shopping center right down the street. I was also able to get my car washed right next door. I would recommend the Super 8 to anyone visiting this area.

We enjoyed out stay. The only think that was a bit uncomfortable for us was that the bed was too hard for me b/c I have minor back problems. The whole staff were quite courteous.

“Spring 2010”

Our daughter lives near Appomattox and there are very few motel choices in the area. We have stayed at Super 8 many times. We appreciate having a fridge and microwave in the room, as there are grocery stores nearby and we can have simple meals and snacks in the room. They provide reasonable accomodations and service for the price charged.

“A nice place”

The motel was satisfactory and comfortable. The shower was a little beaten up, but overall, I was happy with the experience.

“No frills - ok for price”

The hotel's location was very convenient to Appomattox Courthouse and Lynchburg, both of which we were visiting. The hotel itself was definitely not impressive: The cleanliness of the rooms was so-so - obviously they vacuumed around the beds but not under them. The sheets were not fitted but flat, so constantly slipped off the beds. Breakfast selection and "dining area" were minimal - 3 little tables set up in the entrance lobby, obviously an afterthought. The plus side: hotel was very quiet, we could walk to grocery store and several other stores and restaurants in adjacent shopping center. The price was very cheap - so value for the money was good if you're not looking for luxury.

“Not Impressed”

The entire hotel was smoke filled which was a distraction to our stay. The room was adequate for a quick overnight stay.

“Only Choice in Appomattox”

The hotel is very average. The worst thing about this hotel is the very strong smell of stale cigarette smoke in the loby and hall ways. We were very happy the room did not smell of smoke. the room was quiet and clean. The bathroom had several problems with the bathroom sink. It was missing a stopper and was cracked and stained. The water would not shut off. They need new, non dingy washcloths.

“Little things add up.”

Our room was relatively clean. In the bath the drain stop had been removed from the tub and was sitting upside down on the side of the tub. There were some significant chips in the surface of the tub where you stand. The TV remote did not work well, possibly the batteries. The continental breakfast was VERY limited.
