“Very satisfied”
Very friendly personnel, strategic location for all tourist purposes in Madrid. Will stay in same hotel again
“A Great Experience”
Regente was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and the hotel is in a great location for shopping and eating. Regente is located on a side street so there was hardly any noise from traffic. My wife and I were very happy with the overall hotel experience.
“Nice Hotel Good Location”
Should say it's on Gran Via...would be easier to find. Parking is off site. Car is really not necessary if staying here...Hotel is close to everything we wanted to see, museums, gay quarter, Playor Mayor, Retiro.
“clean hotel”
very clean hotel and very central! Highly recommended.
“Excellent location for exporing central Madrid”
I find it hard to believe some of the carping comments that have been made about this hotel. The location is incredibly central, but in a dense urban site inevitbly the views from some of the rooms are not worth a window! It is well equipped and comfortable. The Staff are polite, friendly and maybe a bit formal, but which is entirely right for the Spanish capital. Also it has its own reasonably priced bar with bar snacks which suited us just fine. Anyone complaining about this city centre hotel must be a very hard person to please!
“Stay here if you are looking for a great location”
Great location, near metro, attractions, clean rooms and friendly staff. Visit El Jamonal next door for great coffee, brandy, wine, beer at their plaza.
“great location, clean and safe”
We stayed here twice, once on the third floor and once on the fourth. The fourth floor has been newly remodeled so the bathroom was more modern and the decor brighter, but both rooms were large (for Madrid), clean, and relatively quiet. For 2 euros you can use the internet downstairs for half an hour. The best part about this hotel is the location -- within walking distance of historic downtown Madrid - Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Palacio Nacional, etc.
“Close to gran via”
-clean -close to gran via -helpful staff
“Hotel was good against price”
It was good
“Perfect Location and Paper Thin Walls Gives You Incentive to Explore Madrid”
I booked this hotel for it's apparent location, and was not dissapointed. We were able to walk to all major sights and the metro station was close enough when we needed to get to the train station and airport. A couple streets over from the hotel there was some sketchiness, but I never felt unsafe in or around our hotel (the doors were locked and we had to ring ourselves in after midnight). The staff spoke minimal English which proved to be problematic when checking in, but a smile and an attempt at Spanish helped tremendously. The internet was not working, the fire alarm went off on our first night, and yes, the walls are paper thin; we heard practically everything in the rooms around us, including really loud partiers who came in at 6:30AM. Perhaps not appropriate for high- end travelers, but if you're more interested in exploring the city, this place definitely works well.

Gran Via - Puerta Del Sol, Madrid, Spain: Musicals, hotels, shops and restaurants make the Gran Via a rich vein of entertainment, finishing in the east with the black dome of the Metropolis building. The heart of Madrid, the Puerta del Sol contains the statue of the symbolic bear of Madrid and Tio Pepe sherry sign. Westwards, the grand Plaza Mayor was once the site of inquisitions and executions, but is now mostly visited for its terrace cafes.
