“Very pleasant”
We stayed only for the weekend. Hotel's staff very helpful, speak basic English. January is completely quiet month but they organised so many entertainments in the evenings that we couldnt complain. Food was delicious and not repetory, every night diffrent spanish delicacies. My only complaint was the heating system. Although it was 15C degree outside, the marble flooring and bathroom were extremely cold (no radiators in the bathroom, bedroom). We put the heating all day long so in the evening would be warm...it wasnt. We did asked for help and a handyman came to check up the settings almost immediately which were fine but still not quite warm results for us. I quess 15C is considered warm for majority of Spanish people. Overall customer service was great and it is a lovely hotel to stay during the warmer months.
“Brilliant!”
Absolutely brilliant, Had room at the top of the hotel with a fabulous view of the Bay of Palma. Food is excellent as is the free booze.Bar staff are especially helpful and friendly .Hotel was spotlessly clean with a housekeeper constantly bustling about finding things to clean. Best bits were small fridge in the room and the lack of children which I like when I am on holiday. Worst bits, small bath with taps in a funny place.
“Excellent Hotel”
Just got back (14/7/07) and must say what a great hotel the PALACE was.The restaurant was fantastic in cleanliness, efficiency and the staff couldn't do enough for you.The food was well prepared and displayed.I was surprised by the breakfast buffet as in Spain you usually got a basic setting but here you had a full buffet of everything every day.The lounge area was well set out with plenty of tables and chairs and again the staff was great. The animation guys were fantastic in their choice of games during the day.As usual the evening entertainment was hit and miss but hey you can't have everything. The only down side are the rooms which have very thin walls and the fridge goes off when you take the key out of the slot.
“Palma Nova Palace Hotel, Majorca”
Great break at this hotel, staff and food excellent - only (minor) drawbacks - a significant proportion of the lounge has no view of stage, and (as usual) sun-loungers were mostly taken (by towels) by breakfast time - hotel doesn't seem to enforce their 'no reservations by towel' rule. Bedroom was good, but bath a shade short.
“Nice”
The staff were friendly - the food was okay, the tea was not very nice (should have taken some Earl Grey' with me), and the room was neat. I was disappointed that the pool was too cold to swim (Nov) especially as the holiday was advertised as 'winter sun'. The only english TV stations were SKY and CNN - good thing I had a book to read before bed. (Watching Knight Rider in German was interesting!!!) Good value though.
“an okay hotel in palma nova”
probably a good all round hotel but only as far as average, good selection of food and quite at night time. perfect for a few days holiday.
“Average, wouldnt go back again, and right next to a church with constant bell ringing”
This hotel is situated right at the quiet end of Palma Nova. The hotel itself is rated as a 4 star, I don't know why as it wasn't that fantastic. Bathrooms were tiny and permanently stank of drains. Also one thing the brochure/sites don't tell you is that the hotel is right next to a church and therefore you get woken up at 9am everyday with the bells ringing for ages and then they ring every hour after that. The breakfast was nice although the rest of the meals were the same day in day out, in fact we ate out every evening. Staff were a mixed bag, some very friendly and helpful, others miserable and grumpy. There was no list of things that were included in the all inclusive deal. There was supposed to be free snacks throughout the day but we never ever saw them. Drinks however were readily available from a very small bar at the poolside during the day and another small bar inside in the evenings. We never went to the pool as there were a very small number of sun loungers, most of which had been claimed by I'm not joking 4.30 in the morning I overheard one day. The pool area is shadowed by the hotel on one side and a massive ugly stone wall about 30ft plus tall the other side. The beach is a good 10 min walk away and there isn't a massive selection of bars/restaurants within the very near vicinity. If you book this hotel under the pretense that its a 4 star luxuary accommodation you will be quite disappointed.
“Unlimited booze! poor on service”
Well the Unlimited booze and food was great! The quality of the food was very high considering it was an inclusive buffet. The inclusive booze was also good value. The service at the hotel let it down. Someone was sick at the main bar and the smell was there for days. The bar and lounge area was poor quality with too many seats crammed into the small space, however with the offer of free beer the area was always full. There was a smoking and non-smoking area however the smoke always drifted into the non-smoking area so you wouldnt know the difference. If you want a reasonable quality all-inclusive hotel then this is for you. If you have a bit higher budget then go somewhere else.
“not good at all”
we have just returned from this hotel and have to say it was the worse hotel i have ever stayed in food was very bland and the hotel is used for stag partys so be warned the noise and language was disgusting the walls are so thin that you can here every move from the next room which we did once the people did return back which normally was early hours of the morning if you go there please make sure you dont have a bedroom on the first floor which is where they put all the stag party which is where we were the only good thing is the hotel is very close to the local attractions just 15 min walk but i am very surprised it is a 4 star not worth that amount of rateing
