“Morrocan Heaven!”
We stayed at Le Tikida Garden Hotel for a week in August 2007 and would highly recommend it. It proved to be a quiet, calm and clean haven away from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. The grounds of the hotel were kept immaculately, although there wasn't really enough of them to go for an evening stroll. The staff were very friendly and spoke English at a superior standard to our fractured French. Food was good with plenty of choice. We were at half-board so had breakfast and dinner inclusive. We found the price for lunch very expensive and so tended to eat out in Marrakech instead. The pool was lovely and there were always sunbeds free. The rooms were tastefully decorated and in excellent condition. Although the hotel is a little outside of the town there was a free shuttle bus run 4 times a day and taxis were easy to come by. Overall a great week and we would certainly return!
“Relaxation in an Exotic Location”
A lovely hotel at a reasonable rate with many amenities. A pleasant refuge from the intensity of visiting Marrakesh's medina. An excellent breakfast buffet as well.
“amazing staff-highly recommended!”
We cannot speak highly enough of the staff in this hotel. They saved us the same table and after the first morning, even had our orange juices poured and ready for us!! When my husband went down with a tummy bug, they organised a plate of freshly cooked rice for him and were often slipping us extra bananas for the room!! They were helpful, friendly and very attentive. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to the Tikida Garden Hotel. Beautiful pool area (although the water was pretty cold!!)surrounded by greenery and the scent of jasmine in the air-what more can I say!!
“An exceptional place to stay in Marrakesch”
Having stayed in the city before we were delighted with this hotel. Everything here was immaculate and the staff on the whole very friendly and attentive. There was plenty of space, lovely gardens and a very clean pool. The spa was expensive, but the treatments good - especially the Hamman. Taxi rides to the city took ten minutes and always available. The hotel shuttle left you a long way from the centre and ran at awkward times - especially the return. We are fussy, but would definately return!
“A bit out of town but very clean and friendly hotel.”
Having a taxi rank "attached" to the hotel meant not having to wait very long , although this was for the "grand" taxis. A short walk from the entrance would enable you to hail a "petit" taxi but as neither are likely to have a meter that works, little difference in cost to rthe city. Staff very attentive but not overly so.
“'What you waiting for'”
The hotel was lovely despite the outer surroundings. The staff spoke very good English and the Manager went out of her way to help us with excursions, guides etc. Make sure your there for a Thursday as they have a beautiful bazaar inside the hotel for that day only. The spa and sports facilities were excellent and have to be tried and tested. Would definetly recommend the hotel to others. Throughly enjoyed by all different aged members of my family.(nine of us went) Thank you Expedia for recommending this Hotel.
“Definitely would recommend this hotel...”
This hotel was great, the staff are only too willing to help, service is great providing you tip well. Food in the restaurant is pretty basic, lots of tagines as you would imagine in Morrocco not much for those who don't eat lots of meat but there's always something to tempt you from the desserts. Rooms are also basic but clean and the maids do nice little touches like making fan shapes with the top sheet on your bed, very cute.
“Perfect resort for viewing Marrakesh”
We took two potentially petulant teenagers and had a fabulous time in this hotel. The setting is gorgeous, the facilities brilliant, and the 'animation team' (redcoats, Marrakesh style)full of energy and suprises for those who want to participate. The hotel's oasis position means that it is a bit cooler and less dusty than the centre of the town, but it is still only minutes by taxi from either the old or the new town. Highly recommended.
“Lovely hotel”
The poolside facilities were excellent. The restaurant was really nice with a variety of different food each night so we didn't get bored. My only criticism was that the waiters in the restaurant spent out first night there being really attentive and constantly filling up our wine glasses, then asked us to fill in a comment card straight away. For the rest of our stay the staff were much less attentive and our glasses were not re-filled once! It seems they do it on your first night to get a good review and then just leave you alone after that! The food was good though-they had a fantastic cheeseboard selection, however it only appeared one night! The times in which food were available were also great and there was barely a minute in the day when you couldn't get something to eat. The evening entertainment leaves a lot to be desired! But the hotel is lovely, the surroundings are beautiful and well maintained and there's lots to do so you can never get bored.
“Nice good value hotel”
The Tikida Garden hotel was certainly very good value for money. The level of cleanliness and service was very good indeed and fully met our expectations. The surrounding area is (by western standards) not very nice - but I felt very safe walking around so not in any way dangerous. The hotel is walled so you are quite insulated from the level of poverty around. Staff where very friendly and the pool was very welcoming after a hard days haggling, it was actually nice to get out of the city - the Hotel is about a 5 minute drive from 'La Place' and taxi's are a plenty, fares are about 20 - 30 dr, but the 'Grand Taxi's' out side the hotel will want to charge 50 dr (but will do it for around 30, so worth a walk to the top of the road. We took a trip to the coast which cost us about £25 each - and was in a nice Mini bus arranged by the hotel - very prompt and safe driver - a bit cheaper if you go it alone - but probably not worth the hassle or extra time. Breakfast was good with a good range of hot and cold food - good pastries - and eat all you want. The grounds are nice for a evening walk and the tennis courts etc where all very well looked after. The general areas where always being swept and kept clean, the gardens alike very well kept. Great hotel for a family with young children or couples alone - nice big hotel 4 restaurants and prices quite reasonable. Try to lean a few words of French before you go it will help you in Marrakesh hugely - even if its only number 1 - 100.
