Everything was very clean and the staff was very helpful, especially with advice regarding restaurants and calling taxis. The location is perfect for walking all over the historical center of Guanajuato."

We walked and walked and walked, enjoying restaurants, museums, street parades, and chocolato, knowing we were always about 15 minutes from a quiet refuge. The roof top cafe was wonderful for breakfasts in the morning. "

"We were genuinely sad we only had one night to stay at Banana Azul! Check in was quick and efficient and friendly. The fresh coconut was a lovely treat. The Howler Suite was charming and the view magical. The food in the restaurant was delicious. I highly recommend Banana Azul if you want an authentic Costa Rica experience that’s right on the Playa Negra beach. I’ll definitely be returning. "

"I loved the unique feeling of being in a house and not a hotel. The only thing we didn’t like was the sink in the bathroom leaked and the floor would sometimes be wet. Other then that we loved it. "

"The hotel staff were extremely nice and helpful. Free water at reception. Small balcony w 2 chairs. There is no warm water, which was ok because it was 35 degrees. The room was a bit dusty and theres space at the top of the door so i seen a few small spiders and a gecko came into the room at one point. No ac but a fan which worked ok. Wouldnt recommend if ur staying solo but for a couple would be nice. Overall pretty nice. "
