“This was not on our "Bucket List" take alot of Yen you will need it.”
Japan is an outstanding Country. It would help to know some language. They either don't have a clue about the English Language or simply refuse to speak it. It was helpful to have someone with you to know some Japanese. Traveling within the country was outstanding. The US could take some lessons. It is very safe to be out at night on the streets. It is also very expensive. Take a lot of Yen and buy tickets to ride the bullet trains. Its the only way to travel along with the subways. The country side is beautiful, many rice patties and tea fields. Shopping is outstanding, especially below ground. The resturant food is excellent and there is "No Tipping" they will feel embarassed if you try. This was our way of celebrating our "50th Wedding Anniversary".....
“Could do better”
An impressive looking hotel, well equipped. Staff numerous, friendly and concientious. However, some common area floors dirty and breakfast eggs, bacon & sausages over cooked and cold. (Common problem but at twice the price of other hotels I used in Japan, I expected better)
“Nagoya”
Excellent hotel, near Sakae station
“Just what we needed...”
This was the last hotel we stayed at during our recent five day bullet train tour of Japan. Our room consisted of three twin beds (one of which we added on as a special request to accomodate our 5-year-old son). Even with the extra twin bed in the room, it was still the most spacious room out of all the other hotels we stayed at. The towels were luxurious and the decor was very nice. It was very easy to find outside of the train station, exit 12, as there was a map right on the street level of the exit which showed which direction to walk to the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff.
“Unbeatable for the price”
The hotel was clean, beautifully appointed. The service from the staff was very impressive and the room was large (by japanese standards) and well equipped. If I am back in nagoya I will be staying here again,
“Excellent hotel - very central and comfortable”
Very comfortable hotel - really central to Sakae the main entertainment district of Nagoya, Rooms spacious. Bathrooms nice - good shower and complementary toiletries. All very clean and great staff. Restaurant a little expensive - but did serve breakfast menu late for us. Would definately stay again and reccommend to others.
“FIne hotel in Nagoya”
The Nagoya Tokyu Hotel is a fine, western-style business hotel in the heart of Nagoya. I found the hotel easy to get to using trains and subways, with a minimal walk from the subway station. Checkin was friendly and helpful. Everyone I encountered was able to help me in English. The hotel was maintained well. I had a single traveler room, which was indeed fine for one person. The room had more amenities than most American hotels, but less than some more luxurious Asian hotels. There was a lot of nearby shopping and dining. Overall, a good experience, and I would reccommend this hotel to visitors to Nagoya.
“very good but.......”
i chose this hotel as it had a gym and pool , not realising they are not free to hotel guests and the fees charged are high, also no free internet.
“Cheap hotel”
I stayed at Nagoya Tokyu hotel for 6 days. I went for a meeting there. We booked the hotel room very cheap price with expedia. The room was small but ok. With 100 yen (1$)you may use internet for 5 minutes. The metro station is 10 minutes walk. Night clubs are closed to hotel. We ate all foods outside the hotel. Good Japonesse restaurants near the hotel and not expensive. I may stay at that hotel again in the future. No need for tipping in the hotel. Taxi is expensive.
“First stop - Nagoya”
AS we flew into Nagoya from Sydney, this was our first experience with Japanese service, which we found excellent. First experience of the famous automated toilets as well. Rooms are very warm despite being late autumn. Hotel around 3kms from the Bullet train station. Mattress was very firm though we had a great nights sleep.
