"Fabulous. Could not have been better. Across the street from the tourist office and within walking distance of all the gorgeous shrines, museums, and historic points of interest. Also easily walked to very special restaurants after using the hot baths. Most important, the staff could not have been more wonderful. They went above and beyond on every occasion — including escorting us to our cab with umbrellas in the rain. Our favorite so far. "

"I wanted to experience staying at a traditional ryokan on my first Japan trip, so chose this ryokan after doing much research. We stayed in room 301 which had a private open air onsen. The bath and separate shower were both very clean, the Shiseido shampoo and conditioner provided were wonderful, and the private onsen divine. I used it several times during my one night stay. "Amazingly convenient, just steps from the JR Nara Station. Walking distance to Nara Park, or catch a local bus right outside to the major sightseeing destinations in Nara.
