“Great Stay”
Great hotel, very comfortable and welcoming
“Affordable luxury”
For not all that much more than you'd pay to stay in certain other well known chains, the Marriott offers so much more. From the moment you first walk up to the check-in desk to the moment you reluctantly check-out again, you know you're in a hotel run by a company and staffed by people who simply want your stay to be as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The standard double rooms are considerably larger than you might expect, featuring a huge and ubelievably comfortable bed with no shortage of pillows, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space for clothes, desk and swivel chair, coffee table and sofa, large and spotlessly clean bathroom, very effective and quiet air conditioning, and blackout curtains that really worked. Assuming the combination of nest-like bed and total absence of daylight doesn't make you miss breakfast, you're in for a treat there too - a full self-service hot and cold buffet with plenty to choose from. From a quick bowl of cereal or some fruit through to a full English, or any combination inbetween, the choice is yours. Location-wise it's pretty convenient too, just a few hundred yards off the A1 with the various shopping, eating and leisure facilities of the Metrocentre on the hotel doorstep, and the centres of Newcastle and Gateshead just a short drive (or bus/train ride) away.
“Excellent Hotel, suited are needs”
Comfortable hotel, with modern guest rooms.suited are needs perfectly, our 6 month old stayed in the room with us, hotel provided clean, (looked brand new) infant cot, provided us with a high chair for him in the room, lovely and extremely comfortable queen size bed for us....no noisy stag or hen parties. We will be staying again when we visit family.
“the beds are amazing!”
This hotel was very easy to find, and the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful on our arrival. The beds in Marriot hotels are the reason we like to stay there - they are super comfortable - HUGE, with lovely quality bedding. Other facilities are excellent too. The bar/ restaurant was very good - a great choice of food and very freindly service. Breakfast fantastic also. Unbeatable.
“Good hotel close to Newcastle & Metroland”
Hotel was modern & bright with good parking. Very pleasent & helpfull staff - made us very welcome Excellent for a weekend break - Exploring in the coast north of Newcastle in during the day & shopping in the comfort of Metroland in the late afternoon & into the early evening. Metro Centre 15 minutes walk away - but beware as a busy road & 3 car parks to navigate - not very clear how to get into the place on foot (Head for the Yellow entrance. Breakfast was one of the best I have had recently The food was of a very high standard and again the staff were helpfull & very friendly. Evening menu was a tad limited but you are close to Metro Centre so there are other options Pizza Hut & McDonalds on door step Leasure centre again was very clean & tidy.
