“Great Holiday Inn Express Hotel”
I absolutely loved this hotel. My room was clean, the staff was very friendly, helpful, and accomidating, and the morning breakfast wasn't too bad either. The receptionists were very pleasent, even at 4 in the morning which I appreciated, they were even nice enough to wish me well out on a date with my fiance. The room and bathroom were very nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The only tiny complaint would be that the air conditioner leaked but that was because we ran it a lot and it wasn't like we were standing at the window the entire time. Also, make sure you get good directions because the hotel is somewhat tucked away which is a very nice feature and is within walking distance of a variety of places to eat. I would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.
“Just Passing Through”
Very nice hotel for the money. Clean and friendly. Downside: There were no restaurants or bars in the hotel, so had to go off site for a bite and a drink. Room was not ready when we got there and we had to wait around till around 5 pm. upside: Rooms had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Beds were more comfortable and clean than most. Bathroom was large.
“"Very pleasent stay" Great employees!!”
We were on a visit to see old friends and family in VA, the group of people we wanted to see was spread out from Norfolk to Suffolk to Virginia Beach. This hotel was in a great location to move around all of the above areas and not have to drive more than 20-30 minutes to arrive at any destination. We were also very pleased with the staff, if something was needed they complied quickly. If something was in need of repair they were quick to resolve the problem. This was a pleasant stay to be repeated in the future. Mr & Mrs Jones
“Nice location”
This hotel had a good location. It was an adequate hotel for our stay of one night. The only negative thing I can say (and mentioned it to the hotel) was that we had a non-smoking room, but the beds smelled like smoke. It wasn't really strong, but if you have allergies it might bother you. I think that the smoke might come through the vents or something. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was fine. It was near the freeways and a mall with plenty of food nearby to drive to.
“Not a lot around”
Hotel is nice but not near much. I thought being in Chesapeake it would be more of a quaint town. Shops near by not just a mall that is in any city.

“Clean and Affordable”
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for one night on our way down to North Carolina. We were looking for something clean and yet inexpensive. This hotel fit the bill. They also provide a continental breakfast in the morning, which was crowded but enough to get us going. The staff were extremely pleasant. The rooms very clean and comfortable. We would stay here again.

The hot tub was out of service and so was the ice machine on our floor. The employees were polite and the breakfast had a good variety of items.
“Should Have spent extra few dollars Somewhere else”
The tempature control unit in the room was bad! it was either too cold orTOO hot and very loud which made it very difficult too sleep, Two of the worst nights sleep I think I have ever Had. Room was Clean and hotel was clean, but not climacticly controlled well. The self contained unit did not have an auto setting so it ran all the time. It was not worth the savings of $10.00 per night to me.

Check in was beyond delayed. We were never offered any kind of discount for being made to wait for an hour and a half for our room. The hotel was not very busy. The room was clean when we finally got in it, and spacious. Our HBO didn't work, and when we called the desk, they acted as though we were a bother for questioning it. The breakfast was mediocre. The highlight of our stay was a very informative and friendly maintenance man that seems more concerned with the guest and condition of the hotel than anyone on their customer service staff. He was wonderful.
