“Beautiful Location”
All of the things that make up a "get-away" type of vacation special, were present. Staff really go out of their way to let you know you are appreciated.
“I LOVE Turtle Bay Resort!!! a wonderful choice to Get-Away!”
Turtle Bay Resort is a VERY SPECIAL place. I wanted to get out of the busy city, be close to nature yet have the amenities of a nice hotel, really relax and de-stress, to be out of it all but also not too isolated and I especially wanted a fabulous Ocean-View, I found the perfect spot. The hotel is practically on top of the water, all the rooms have spectacular views, I asked to be away from the pool so from my balcony all I could hear was waves crashing on the rocks and song birds. There are plenty of restaurants (prices from low-ish to high), there's horse stables, a beautiful golf courses, a lovely pool area, I ran the trails/paths in the mornings, one path goes through a little jungle and lets you out at a beautiful bay. There is a beach for the kids and if you walk a bit, you'll find many spots with no people for a private experience, all on the resort's HUGE property. Please keep in-mind the hotel was built in the 1970's so expect a style from that time in the lobby with a Hawaiian flair (my room seemed updated and renovated, my room was great, I dream of going back and staying in a cottage, they looked so fabulous!), and all the grounds by the hotel buildings golf-course and cottages are beautifully manicured but if you wonder off, some of the outer land is rural and natural. For me, this was just PERFECT!!! I highly recommend staying here!!!
“My only complaint was the rain.”
My husband and I just returned from a three night stay at Turtle Bay. Aside from the rain the first two days, we were in heaven, and even the rain was kind of fun to watch from our hotel room. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little worried that we had just paid through the nose for something that we wouldn't be satisfied with, but our stay was perfect. We requested the 6th floor in our reservations through Expedia, and we were very pleased that they met our request. So if you get the chance, be sure to request what you want; they just might give it to you. The rooms are simple but very clean, and the view was spectacular. Due to others' reviews, we did not even try the restaurants at the resort. Instead, we drove to Haleiwa each day. If you don't mind the 15 minute drive, there are many delicious restaurants to choose from. Definitely worth the extra trip for us. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is ready to relax and enjoy the beauty of the North Shore. We can't wait to go back.
“Great experience!”
Turtle Bay was an absolutely great resort. Far away from the bustle of honolulu it was a wonderful place to just relax. However if we needed to get down to the city it was only a 40 minute drive. The staff was wonderful, the restaurants are great ( a bit pricey) and the beaches were amazing. Will definitely return!!
“Best Vacation Ever Babeee!”
Million dollar view! Ahhh! we loved this trip and Turtle bay had a huge part of it. You can snorkel right in their waters and see the most colorful fish, sea cucumbers, moray eels, and most of all swim with turtles! Heaven on earth seriously :) And just north is a fruit stand (1-2min)with the most delicious apple-bananas and you gotta drink the ice cold coconuts and see the cutest puppy named 'tiger'
“Can't wait to go back again, and again, and again... It was well worth it!!”
Turtle bay resort was extremely beautiful and classy, as a family we plan on making this resort " The family resort"! Everything about the resort was great. From the food, to the employess and of course the view. There was not a bad view in sight. It felt at home and very humble. The location was perfect , not touristy or crowded! Although renting a vehicle would be at your best interest. Its close to the polynesian center, and far enough from downtown that driving into town is a beautiful escape of its own!! The people are so friendly it felt like family as well.
“Loved it!”
This resort was full to capacity yet we had no idea! We always got a table in the restaurants, we always got a treadmill. Only one day I couldn't find a chair by the pool so I walked to Ola's and had half the beach to myself. The hotel is surrounded by the ocean on three sides. Staff is friendly and prompt. Country side is beautiful. This resort was so relaxing and beautifully situated. Loved it!
“Turtle Bay Resort top pick for Oahu”
Pros: We did not want to be in the middle of a bunch of hotels and this was the perfect choice for our family. Very private location with the most beautiful sunset imagineable. Very clean, extremely friendly staff, concierge was very helpful. I will definitely stay here again on my next Oahu vacation. Rental car was a necessity in our opinion for freedom to travel to Honolulu, Pearl Harbor, Haleiwa, etc. South Wing room with a gorgeous view of pool and bay. Cons: Parking could be a little closer, but you can go with the valet parking for a fee. Breakfast restaraunt in resort was overpriced. Tips for improvement: Breakfast at a decent price would be nice.
“Fantastic place to spend your vacation, can't wait to go back”
I loved this hotel, the people were so incredibly friendly, our maid was awsome even the maintainance guy was great. Open air lobby, restaurants were great, the golf courses were awsome, we played tennis at the well kept tennis courts, sat at the gorgeous pool, I had a great deep tissue massage at the wonderful spa and we ran along some of their trails they have marked between the ocean and the golf course, it just didn't get any better than that. I read in one of the reviews that the rooms were ugly and outdated... Totally wrong, it is a hotel that has been around for a long time but every room has a view, the color in the room was beautiful and I loved it. Parking was easy, we always had a spot, the restaurants were great and paying the resort fee really took care of alot of the extras...at the end of our trip we stayed in a hotel in waikiki and not only did they charge us $25 a day for parking but they charged for internet usage at the internet cafe, charged us to use the safe and many other little irritants. I loved Turtle Bay Hilton and would recommend it to everyone to have a wonderful, relaxing vacation.
“Great hotel”
We stayed at Turtle Bay Resort during January 2006 and were impressed overall. The hotel itself was a bit worn around the edges but is still a gem. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, the views and resort grounds and facilities were good, and the views and hotel location was great.
