“AWESOME AND RELAXING VACATION!!!”
I loved this hotel, the people were extremely welcoming, courteous and nice. During check in you are welcome with a rum runner, yummy!! There are many fun activities throughout the day like aerobics on the beach, dance competitions by the pool, and amazing shows during the night. Bars are all over and the 2 swim up bars were my favorite. The beach is spectacular. Overall, Ocho rios, Jamaica has been one of my favorites caribbean destinations and staying at the RIU made it just Perfect!!! An absolute paradise!!!!
“Whising I was there”
Had a great time ; )
“Beautiful Resort”
This resort is beautiful. Very clean. Pools are beautiful, so is the beach. Food leaves something to be desired. The buffets are boring-same thing everyday and not that good. But lots of fruit and veggies...which are good. There are restaurants included that you need a reservation at. The Asian and Japanese ones are very good. But we did not go there for the food. We went to relax in the sun.
“Highly Recommend!”
The hotel was awesome, great amenities and very friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable, lots of dining choices. The shows at night are not vegas quality, but they are certainly entertaining and free! The only downside (which was minimal) was the size of the hotel - it meant a little extra walking to/from room and a fair amount of people in the dining rooms. I would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel!! The RIU chain is great!
“Would definitely return”
This was a beautiful resort. The staff was excellent and the hotel suite was just beautiful! The food in the buffets were fine, not exceptional but what buffet is. The food in the restaurants that require reservations was very good! I can't say enough about the staff and the amenities. The only problem we had was the jets in the bathtub in our suite didn't work and maintenance didn't arrive before we had to leave. Other than that, all else was just exceptional!
“What a way to go...”
This was my first experience with an all inclusive. It was very nice having all of your drinks and food provided. However, you do miss out on the local flavor. I would suggest planning a few nights out just to experience the local cusine. The hotel is currently the biggest in Jamaica, but you wouldn't know there are 1000 rooms. The hotel is laid out well. Be careful the drinks are strong. I would suggest making plans to SCUBA. The staff is A+. Their facility is a 5* PADI.
“great time spend”
the hotel is located at a beautiful beach, they had great activities every night for the guest, the people working there are always ready to assist you and serive you. The food was oky not the best. overall it was a very relaxing vecation, and would love to go back again soon..
“RIU - JAMAICAN ME WANNA GO BACK!!!”
The resort is beautiful. Staff was very helpful and really nice, my boyfriend and I enjoyed the shows at night. Some of the tours are expensive and not worth the $. Bob Marley Tour... expenisive and totally NOT worth it. It took over an hr to get there and the tour itself took 15 minutes. Being a Marley fan I was not impressed, in fact i laughed at how ridiculous it was. (They showed us a rock on cement and told us it was Bob Marley's thinking rock, true story). Dunns River Falls was fun. If its your first time in Jamaica you should try it. I remember some of the guests at the hotel went to Margaritaville at night and came back half hr later. They told us not to go because they were overcharging the tourists. You had to pay a ridiculous fee just to get in + drinks. The Beach is beautiful. Locals are not aloud to sell you things on the compound which is nice, you can sunbathe in peace! As soon as you walk off off the resorts property (if your looking at the ocean walk to your left) there is a hut where you can get your hair braided cheaper than the resorts price and buy a little ganja too. The food at RIU was decent. It becomes mundane after a while but there's something for everyone. I brought snacks in my suitcase which came in handy at night! Overall I had a great stay and can't wait to go back!!!
“The best vacation we have ever had!”
Myself, my husband and our 2 children visited the Riu, Ocho Rios for my sisters wedding. It was a huge family affair and we all agree that the resort and the people were amazing. The setting is beautiful with white beaches and crystal water, the pools were clean and warm. The guys at the bar made sure that your glass was never empty and would make fabulous cocktails! The food was absolutely fantastic, all meals were hot and there was soooo much to choose from at each and every meal! You have to try the omlettes!
“Best All INclusive we have stayed at”
We have visisted Jamaica several times and must say this was the best All INclusive we have stayed at. Everything went smoothly, no surprises. Food was excellent, evening entertainment was the best we have had at an all inclusive. The resort was well kept, staff very friendly and overall a great trip. We will definately return.
