Excellent budget-friendly location
Excellent budget-friendly location near the Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori neighborhoods, with friendly and accommodating English-speaking staff. Easy walk to the Osaka Metro Shinsaibashi (5 min) and JR Namba (20 min) stations. Complimentary washer and dryer for laundry was a bonus. It is an old building and was very noisy the one night that a family with 2 small children were in the room above ours, but other than that we were comfortable during our stay!

It was really bad, even though the staff is nice. Our room is on the ground floor. It was really dirty, unlike the pics they show here, we saw dead cockroach's legs on the wall and dead insects inside the air conditioner. We do not dare to turn on the heater cause it is to dirty. We end up change the hostel at 11:30 pm. I definitely not recommend anyone to stay here.

I stayed here with my husband and 2 girls. Location is quiet and close to station, convenient stores, restaurants and sight spot like Dotonbori! And we enjoyed hostel was older Japanese house like Machiya style in Kyoto. It could be backpacker hostel but it’s much more roomy and comfy. Staffs could speak English fluently and very helpful. They helped us info for sightseeing, restaurants, transportation to Kansai airport. They could keep our luggages, so we could enjoy sightseeing until our last minute. Especially I appreciate their last advice and service to us. “it’s traffic time, better taking Nankai Rapeat airport train instead of airport bus. It’s under $10 from hostel to Nankai Nanba sta. by taxi” And 2 staffs helped us to bring our suitcases and find taxi on the street. We’ll definitely stay again!!

Perfectly Suited for a Simple Stay
The number one word that comes to mind when thinking about this property is "sufficient." There weren't many bells and whistles or gimmicks, but it was a safe, clean, and quiet place to sleep and had all of the essentials we needed.

Good location, it's near Honmachi station and you can walk to Dotonburi in 20 minutes. Building it self is little old so it's get noisy when your next room is loud but everything else are good

Good place within City
Overall Review is GREAT This inn is at the centre of Osaka City. 1min walkinh distance to/from Shinsaibashi Subway Station. Also just 10min walking distance to Dotonbori, so if u want late night visit to Dotonbori dont worry about missing a train. You can just relax waljing back to the Inn. 18min walking distance to/from Namba Station, incase u arriving late at Kansai Airport. Just take a Nankai Train from Kansai around 10pm-11.40pm you will can make it to late night Check-In. Owner is very nice, also they keep away from you to respect tenant private time. If you need anything just press button at reception. They also very nice to allowing Late Night Check-Inn, which i arrived last time on 1.10am due to flight delay at kansai Airport. Toilet is shared. Bathroom is at ground floor. Towel is provided. For transportation using Subway to go anywhere. North-South just using Subway line at Shinsaibashi Station. (Osaka Station/Namba/etc) For East-West just using Subway line at Honmachi station. (Osaka Castle etc) Both station is just within 3min walking distance. I going with family which got small kids, so overall just easy walking and transfer to any location. If you want go to Kyoto, just take shinsaibashi to Umeda (which also is Osaka Station) Thank You Overall 10/10, i love this place.

Good Location and value for money.
You get what you pay for. Don't expect 5 star service. Cleanliness is acceptable though it could be better. They didn't change bed sheet or make up the bed for you unless you ask for. Staff is helpful when you approach them. Location is very convenient. Within 5 min walk you can reach Shinsaibashi Shopping area and subway. This is what I like the most. Anyway, it is 5 mins when you are getting used to the road. My first attempt to find the location for this hotel took half an hour from Shinsaibashi station

Staff are nice but no cleaning work. Very old residential building and has 2 toilet for over 10 room people, one of the toilet out of order. First 3 night stay in a 2 double bed room, no space at all. Next 3 night change to 3 double bed room, getting better. Free breakfast always out of milk, need ask staff to buy more. 15 min. walk to subway and very close to shopping area. A lot places to eat. OK price for the location but found better airbnb after booking.

Budget hostel in excellent location
Cheap hostel in excellent location to transport and markets/malls/designer stores/food places. My family (3 ad/1 teen) stayed in a room 4 bunk beds with aircon. Clean linen. Has kitchen with fridge for use. Tea/Coffee and light breakfast supplied. Washing machine/dryer free. Shared toilets/shower/bath. Place tidy BUT does need a very good clean in all areas. Staff excellent, limited English. Ok for our budget.

Fantastic staff and comfy bed.
Lovely, really helpful staff. Bed was very comfy and it was a great basic choice very near the station. Having said that, if you are staying here, maybe download your route or prepare very detailed directions. I did the latter, but they weren't detailed enough (found some on a review site, but they didn't say which exit to take at Shinsaibashi - ended up walking for an hour and even asking the Police. Eventually had to resort to Google maps using roaming- no wifi available.) check in closes at 22:00 - was a few minutes late, but the receptionist was still there and was very welcoming and helpful. The next day, when I asked about takoyaki, he recommended Kukuro (くくる) in Dotombori - which was a fantastic choice!

small, affordable, walk to Shinsaibashi
Staff is friendly and nice, they speak a little English. On site complimentary washer and dryer are a plus, as is the community kitchen. Entrance is down a mini-alleyway, not immediately obvious at first. Not a luxury hotel but as a single person traveling solo, it met my needs.

Not what I expected...
We've stayed in many hostels so are used to all sorts of good & bad surprises. The best thing about this place is free washing machine and dryer! The location is also OK to get to. Apart from checking in we had no communication with anyone else at all. While our room was mostly clean (my daughter had many strange black hairs on her "new clean" bed), the toilet & bathroom situation left a lot to be desired. The toilet had no ventilation & smelt terrible & the kitchen next door smelt like the toilet did. The bathroom next to our room seemed to not even be an actual room as there was a tree growing up through the roof, & since we were there during rainy season there was streams of water coming in from different gaps. The 2 side by side showers were basically small tin sheds that again had no ventilation, so drying yourself was impossible with the moisture. There was certainly a lot of mould in both showers due to not being able to air our & dry off. I think the "cleaning" crew go as far as emptying bins & that might be it as it looked & smelt like nothing had been cleaned for some time.

Practical room in a decent location
This hotel is fine if you're just using it as a base to keep your stuff and sleep in. The showers and toilet are shared and the sink is in the hallway. There is no cleaning service for the room but you can collect clean towels near the reception whenever you need them. There is also free use of a clothes washer and dryer if you need it. The staff are very friendly, one time the gentleman at reception came running out to give me an umbrella when I was about to head into the rain without one which was very much appreciated. The hotel is located near a metro station and is about a twenty minute stroll from Umeda where there is lots of bars and shops. Overall basic but well located and has everything you need as long as you aren't too picky.

Close to America Town and Shinsubashi Station.
It's more like a private room at a backpackers than a hotel but it is very cute and has a more cultural feel to it than he usual accommodation. It is in a handy location to the station and America Town as well as a quaint little Totoro themed café. It was very reasonable condition especially for the price paid and the host was helpful where possible. As stated above it was like a nice little backpackers with a shared bathroom but with private sleeping quarters.

Comfortable and Good Location
A fifteen-minute walk from downtown. The room is small, as you can see in the pictures, but it was entirely suitable to my needs of sleeping and taking a break. It was clean, though I did find some hairs on my pillow. You can make your own simple breakfast of toast and eggs and chat with other travelers in the little dining area. One of the staff speaks a little English, enough to get by, and they are friendly, of course. Anyway, I had a good stay.

Little universe with nice staff
It is a nice place. The staffs there were so friendly, they tried their best to give us advices and services. In this house, it was a little universe, Chinese, Taiwanese, Korean, American and even Japanese local tourist. We discussed many things and it was fun to explore other culture. The location is close to the underground train and different famous places in Osaka.

Excellent location in the centre of it all!
Our stay in Osaka was made better by staying at Foga Inn. We enjoyed the clean and very spacious rooms which offered space for all our bags without getting under our feet. The kitchen was great for us to prepare breakfast and the owner was very helpful, friendly and always smiling. He even informed us of a once a year event in a town nearby; this is something we would have never known about if it wasn't for him and we loved that he took the time to show us how to get there on a map. We highly recommend staying at Fogainn, it is in a great location near many of Osaka's main attractions such as Shinsaibashi shopping arcade, Amerika mura not to mention many designer stores which are less than 100 meters away.

It's really a guesthouse basically, and small
It is a very small place but the people running it are nice. The room was very clean, and just enough room for me and my bags. The walls are a bit thin so as long as you are tired you will be ok to sleep. The bathroom is outside your room, and the shower is on the bottom level in a shower room. It was enough for what I needed, but I would have got better facilities in a capsule hotel to be honest.

Overall it is a good place to stay,helpful staff especially Now San.But need to improve the cleanliness of the toilet and bathrooms,the mats were cold and wet each time when we entered.The room that we stayed was too small for 2 double decker beds and we had problems with our luggage storage. Anyway, there is an amazing restaurant just next door called Mexicanaria with delicious food.

Clean and comfortable
My single room was quite spacious by Japanese standards (although small by North American standards). It was also quite clean. The bathroom is quite narrow, although typical for Asia. The location was great--close to the subway and within walking distance of Dotonbori.
