“Great, will be back”
Excellent Value for Money. I stayed last two days of Feb 2010 with 7 year old daughter. Staff were very friendly, and helpful, though lift was tiny, the room was very clean, well equipped and everything worked. We had a high, quiet, nice and warm room, with a comfy bed so a good nights sleep was no problem, which given there was a huge storm with high winds was excellent. The bathroom was spotless, and plenty of fluffy towels, changed daily. Great location - 15 min walk to George Pompidou centre, Strasbourg St Denis metro less than 5 mins walk away, which is two stops from Gard De Nord, and about 3 from Les Halles. We could get to everywhere very easily. Breakfast was 10 euros, it was all you could eat, and although there was not a huge choice, was fresh and unlimited (French bread, croissants, yoghurt's, fruit, cheese, sliced meats, jam, cereals and boiled eggs and drinks), children ate free. I cannot stress again how helpful the staff were - all spoke English and one even went so far as to take me outside and take me to the junction to point out a family friendly restaurant. It may be basic , décor may be a little tired (yellow painted textured paper)- but it was very clean, and comfy, I will definitely stay there again. To top it off I was able to leave our bags there on the last day whilst we went site seeing prior to going to Eurostar - free of charge. Nice area too, shops, cafes and bars, a theatre, all sorts nearby. Absolutely great value for money. Good place to stay.
“Friendly staff, comfortable room and good central location to the whole of Paris”
Super friendly staff who know how to treat their guests! We arrived a few hours prior to check-in and the hotel was more than happy to look after all out luggage while we went around a explored the city! The hotel was also very reasonably priced considering the location and easy access to the whole city! Hotel was also very willing to help us get other little mod cons (such as adaptors- after we forgotten ours). The bedroom was also huge! There was four of us, so cannot pass judgment on the other rooms, but a nice amount of space and the bathroom was also huge too, with shower, bath and two sets of sinks! Only downside was the height of the shower which really should have been designed to accomodate people over 5"4. I would certainly come back to this hotel the next time I come to Paris without any hesitation!
“Would definitely stay here again.”
Very good value, and in convenient walking distance of museums, etc.
“A very clean small hotel”
There's 10 mins' walk from the Gare du Nord to this hotel. When I arrived, it was advised that I could check in only from 2pm as all the rooms are fully booked. I left my luggage there first. The room is a small one but pretty clean. One door of the wardrobe is detached; other than that everything was fine. The neighbourhood is a diversified area; from where the hotel is walk towards the south to get to Centre Georges Pompidou, Hotel de Ville, Chatelet; walk westward to Bonnes Nouvelles and Grands Boulevards where there're many choices of restaurants and theatres.
“White sheets”
A convenient hotel with clean, comfy beds, hot showers with hairdryers. Little pricey for location.
“reasonable place to stay”
Nice multicultural staff. Area is not as bad as I thought from other reviews. Close to metro.Okay breakfast. three bedded room quite a good size (for being so central).
“A good reasonably priced hotel”
I used this hotel for a business trip to Paris and found it to be a good hotel for the money. Location was close enough to the city centre for me to walk in 15 to 20 minutes but there is a metro station closeby. There is a supermarket nearby and a few reasonable restaurants. Hotel reception was clean and tidy with friendly and helpful staff. Very small lift but I used the stairs. Room was clean and a reasonable size. Bathroom was fine with good powerful shower that was fine for my height (6'3''). Breakfast canteen was bright and spacious with friendly staff and a reasonable buffet selection (continental, cereals, pastries etc.). Overall a good compromise between cost and distance from the city centre.
“Good price, great location, nice people”
I stayed at Hotel du Plat d'Etain for one night during a brief trip to Paris. The hotel is walking distance to the wonderful Centre Pompidou and very close to a few Metro stations - Strasbourg metro stop takes you directly to the Eiffel Tower (on line 8) or to Gare du' Nord for the train or airport (on line 4). I traveled solo and was pleasantly surprised by the multilingual staff who were very helpful - especially Jimmy who has worked in tourism for many years. The room was modest and a bit outdated but the bed was very comfortable. After a long day of walking around the city it was a great relief to have a comfortable bed and soft pillows. Americans, don't forget your charger converters when traveling.
“Very Clean, Central 3 star Paris Hotel”
Good, very clean hotel with central location, walking distance to Le Marais district! The best bit was they had air conditioning! The only problem was it got quite noisy in the mornings. There were people talking loudly in the hallway and cars horning outside the window! But I would still go back to it as its reasonable and central location. 5mins walk from the metro and 4 stops away to the Eurostar station. They also let us leave our luggage for the whole day after checking out while we did some more sightseeing before we caught our train back home.
“Nice Hotel”
The hotel was nice, we stayed in the quad and it had plenty of room for all of us. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to everything and the Metro is only a very short walk away. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends.
