“Hotel Faubourg 216-224 - Would gladly stay here again”
The only major complaint I would have is that we were given a twin room rather than the double I booked for the first night because of overbooking. Other than that the stay couldn't have been better. Many reviews state the hotel is in a bad area but I can't see why. The street seems to be an Indian district with a lot of take aways and Indian shops but there is nothing 'dodgy' about the area. It is about an hours walk from the city center which suited us perfectly but there is easy access to the metro nearby.
“Good place at reasonable price close to metro station”
Good place very close to nord station and la chappelle metro station (both <2 min walking distance). Reasonable rates and lots of places to eat nearby at good price in expensive Paris. Especially Indian restaurants including South Indian food. Hotel room was very good and clean though small. However, the stairs area needed new carpets etc but that's OK. You only pass them once in a day! Overall good place.
“Good Hotel close to the Train station Gare du nord.”
Good service. The hotel is Ok, and the location to the train station is fine. I recommend the hotel because of the price, the location and the room.
“Comfortable and convenient”
hotel is located right on the doorstep of La Chappelle and moments away from Gare Du Nord, very easy access to surrounding transport. Hotel staff were polite and very helpful, and were kind enough to order us taxi whenever we needed. We were able to store luggage prior to and following our visit due to flight times. Hotel is split into 2 buildings, we found that out side was considerably less maintained than the other, the staircase was a bit dodgy and 4 flights up is quite exhausting. The room is fairly small but more than suitable, I've lived in smaller. All decor and facilities were modern and clean. Considering its location, the room is very quiet. We slept with window open every night and was very pleasant. The hotel is located within the Asian community, with little variety in shopping or sights to see, although eating is plentiful, and only a 5 minute drive south and you are in the heart of Paris. Enjoyable stay, perhaps next time would stay somewhere a little more central as opposed to convenient.
“Would use again for a quick visit. Close to Gare deNore”
Convenient hotel for transport. Rooms compact especially the bathroom but modern. Breakfast taken in the basement area felt like a tude station. Internet access at front of hotel not working, room wi fi okay. Staff very helpful
“Great transport connections”
Nothing special, good enough for 3 stars. No cattle in rooms. wireless internet was working in one block but couldn't get connected in other block. Friendly reception. great transport links.
“Good”
Small but clean. The bathroom is Very modern and clean.
“Great for Gare du Nord”
Small but clean and well furnished rooms, with a good, hot, shower. Neighbourhood largely Indian/Pakistani with lots of sari shops, but also supermarkets selling bottled water, etc, likely to be more useful to travellers! Surrounding area felt safe, and Gare du Nord is only a course of mins walk away, so easy to get anywhere on the RER and metro, and great for Eurostar.
“Was an OK place to Stay”
Not the best hotel, but OK for the price because you're not staying there for the hotel - you're out seeing the sights, right? We were on the 5th floor with 5 flights of dark spiral stairs to climb. There is a tiny, very decrepit elevator, if you dare. We just put our luggage on it and sent it down. That's all it holds - 3 suitcases! Also, their breakfast was fine - about the same as what we got in most hotels included with our rent, but they wanted €10. per person! One girl at the front desk told us that my grandson would only be €5. but then I had a hassle with another clerk who wanted to charge €10. for him too. My daughter speaks fluent French, so there was no misunderstanding. The hotel is conveniently close to Gare du Nord and a metro station and we found an amazing restaurant close by - Brasserie Terminus Nord, 23 rue Dunkerque. The baltic salad is wonderful and their chocolate mousse is to die for!
“Two stars hotel”
This hotel is a two stars hotel (max). Rooms are VERY small. To open my suitcase i had to put it on the bed. Only one person can walk around the room at a time. Entire hotel looks pretty worn. There were stains on carpet and wallpaper in my room but no bed bugs found. The elevator fits two person without luggage. There are no english channels on TV. Neighborhood seems to be shady but is safe even at night. 5 min walk to Gare du Nord and metro is just around the corner. It takes about 40 min to get to Disneyland and about 20 min to CDG. I can recommend this hotel if you 're going to visit Paris and looking for a cheap room to sleep in, only. Otherwise find something else.
