With an eclectic selection of shops and cafés, Piazza Marconi is a charming square a couple blocks from the beach in Jesolo. It has a bandstand and a fun play zone that will keep the kids entertained. Sip coffee as you relax on one of the chairs from the cafés arranged on the pedestrian section of the plaza. Watch people go by in this busy hub.
Browse the shops that line the plaza and display children’s toys and candy. Along the row of shops are small potted trees and benches, providing an idyllic spot to relax and read a book. During winter look for large sculptures made of sand as part of the town’s Sand Nativity decorations.
Let your kids frolic in the children’s playground at the southern end of the plaza. Here you’ll find benches and colorful climbing frames. The vegetation tracing the edges of the play area forms the image of a child.
Head south to the sandy beach, which is dotted with a mix of yellow and blue umbrellas and deck chairs. Swim with your family in the Adriatic Sea and dry off in the sun. A few piers jut out from the coast, offering excellent views of the surrounding ocean water and the Jesolo townscape.
Watch the sunset from the beach and enjoy some cocktails at a bar. Head out to one of the night clubs bordering the square and consider staying at one of the many hotels in close proximity. Note that the piazza was completely renovated in 2000.
Piazza Marconi is very near the beach in the center of the Lido di Jesolo area. If you drive here, leave your car in one of the parking spaces at the southern end of the square. Consider taking a bus to a nearby stop. While here, visit some of the neighboring sights, such as Gommapiuma evening playground, SEA LIFE Aquarium and Piazza Drago.
