“A great getaway for the family! Stay @ Willowbrook”
I went to Split Rock for Mother's Day weekend and my family and I stayed in the newer suites, Willowbrook (the size of a 1bedroom apartment with a full kitchen) and we LOVED it (especially the new jacuzzi)! Check in was a breeze and the staff were very courteous. There are lots to do at the resort for adults and children.
“Very nice, just a little far off main road”
Hotel was very nice. Staff very pleasant.
“Nice stay”
Good level hotel
“split rock lodge”
We stayed in the lodge near the lake while at Split Rock. Though this is not the newest building on the property, it was much less crowded and quieter than the new large hotel. There was an indoor pool that was clean and quiet. Though the room looks to have not been updated since the 1980's, it was clean and comfortable. My two children really enjoyed the stay, especially the water park. It was a great time when it is cold in PA. Our only complaint was the old, small tv in the room. It looked like something that I would have had in 1985, and worked as well.
“Dated but comfortable, we would go back.”
Rooms are dated but comfortable. We stayed in a slopeside suite, and had a full kitchen and a separate br. had all the comforts of home which was important because we were traveling with a 1-year old.The kitchen was great b/c of the baby. If we knew we could have cooked meals we'd have brought more food to snack on.The breakfast buffet was a great value. Coming from NY, a full buffet with an omelette and waffle station, and coffee and juice, was a HUGE value for $10.95 per adult. The pizza and snack bars were also BUT the creditcard machine went down and the ony ATM in the lobby ran out of cash. I recommend bring cash in case of an emergency if you stay in the main building b/c the next ATM is a mile away. The do cash checks at the front desk with ID up to $50. We were on the 6th floor. Finding the entrance to the suites was tricky at night but not bad. We had to take an elevator up one floor to our room, or down to the3rd floor, and then down another elevator to the lobby. recommend asking for a room on 5th or 3rd floor. The room situation was confusing and tedious at first, but we got used to it. we took the baby to the waterpark. Overpriced at $39 per adult, but the laughs that came from our baby old made it worth it. The rain and cold weather didn't hurt us. Overall, we will be back again. It's not the Plaza or any other 5 star resort, but you get a good value for your dollar. It's hard to find a vaction spot to take a 1-year old, but this one was a great choice.
“Split rock”
This is a great family style hotel/resort. It's under new management. They have some quirks to iron out. Like the fact that the annoying $1.00 toll receipt can no longer be used for certain things. Other than that they have a bunch of things to keep everyone happy. I definitly recommend this hotel.
“Very Nice”
The suite was nice; the tvs are outdated and need to have a bigger screen. Otherwise, everything was great!
“An overall great resort”
Although you can tell this hotel is older it is still well kept for them most part. Our room was much larger than I expected for a standard 2 queen room and it was very clean. We ate at several of the restaurants and everything was good. Although we did not get an opportunity to use many of the amenities including pools, water park, etc, everything looked very nice. We would definitely like to go back again.
“Great place for group outing”
Located in a great area. Has tons of activities within the resort.
“A beautiful spot in the Poconos”
We went for a car show in the Poconos and stayed at the Split Rock Lodge. It's a really nice quiet place, and the scenery was beautiful, and I can't wait to go back again next year.
