“great place in a quiet area”
outside berlins city limits, with all the necessary convinces close by. a 15 minute walk to mall or a hop on tram transit takes you almost any where like to go. great morning breakfast choose from. very helpful staff to get you on your way.

The Ascot Bristol Hotel is located in the East of Potsdam which is SW of Berlin. From the airport we had a little difficulty finding the hotel as it is in the suburbs of Potsdam. The easiest way from Schonefeld airport is a direct train to Potsdam HBF taking about 50mins which I believe runs every hour but this saves lots of changes in Berlin. From Potsdam HBF you can get the 92 or 96 tram for about 20mins to the hotel, which is immediately opposite the tram stop. The hotel is about 3 minute walk from a huge shopping center the 'Sternstrase' so this can be your point of focus if lost. The hotel was very clean, well maintained and had good fittings and furniture. The staff were incredibly helpful, speaking excellent english and printing numerous travel instructions for us to get around. We didnt eat at the hotel but tried the Mexican Bar next door which was good and also had very friendly staff. The Hotel amazingly offers you a FREE tourist travel ticket, giving you free transport on all trains, busses and trams. The transport system once mastered is excellent and we didnt find one service that ran late our entire trip. Dont be put off by this hotel not being in Berlin, Potsdam has a great history and buildings to match which have not been destroyed unlike the majority in Berlin. I would highly recommend this hotel and have no doubts that I would return to it if travelling to Berlin again.
“Superb Hotel, fantastic service. Would definitely use this Hotel again”
This is the second time that my family and I have booked through Expedia to visit Berlin. We decided to book the Ascot Bristol Hotel because of the fantastic price of the Hotel and also the location within Potsdam to use as a spring board to visit the various historic/tourist attractions around Potsdam. The Hotel was extremely easy to find, just literatey off the autobahn and on arrival the Hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly, spoke very good English and extremely helpful on local places of interest and attractions to visit. The Hotel has a fantastic resturant if you just want to "stay local" with a quality varied menu to choose from. Breakfast timings we found very accommodating, there is no great rush to make the usual early breakfast timings and there is no pressure to hurry up and finish your breakfast and go, this we found a very relaxing start to the day, especially with a 6 year old! due to the specifics of our weekend break, we only dined in the Hotel's resturant once for an evening meal, once again the service was impeccable, warm & freindly and good vaule for money. The location of the Hotel in our view was absolutely perfect with fantastic access to an extremely efficient tram & bus network which was literately on the doorstep of the Hotel.
“if I go to Berlin again, I will use this hotel”
The Hotel offers FREE Tram, Train and Bus travel all over Berlin and surrounding area. There is a fantastic shopping centre very near (easy walking). General area around hotel was a bit shoddy but OK, felt happy that they had underground secure parking (extra cost). Potsdam well worth a visit, better destination than Berlin itself. “good hotel if”
the hotel was nice and clean. if you are looking to be in berlin it's a little far away. the tram is close after that though, you have to take a train another fifteen minutes to berlin. the hotel was nice and there is plenty of historical sites in potsdam. i recommend it if your on a budget and want a nice to place to stay
“IDEAL”
This hotel was excellent value for money. Great food in the restaurant, and a free transportation card for public transport for your stay. Trams stop outside hotel and its easy to get to the train station to get to Berlin. Will be staying again
“Potsdam Hotel”
Hotel's condition very-very nice, rooms great. Problems: 1. Wireless internet ONLY in lobby, but virtually no electrical outlets for PC. 2. Lobby smoky. 3. Hotel 15 minutes tram ride from downtown Potsdam.

..had a great room which had plenty of space. breakfast in the morning was nice, too. hotel was cheaper and nicer then some of the other hotels that I had before.
“very good hotel”
We were very happy with the hotel and the friendly staff. Although outside Potsdam centre, the public transport was excellent and you're in town in 15 minutes. Plus you get free travel throughout Berlin too, which is only 20 minutes from Potsdam. Highly recommended.
“Does the job.”
We were visiting an event in Berlin and rates in the city were VERY high so since we were going to Berlin by car we decided to stay in Potsdam at much more reasonable price. And in fact it took us under 20 minutes to get to the Exhibition Center from this hotel as it is very conveniently located just off the highway. It was even less time than what others spent getting to the expo from Berlin's center. The hotel does the job providing comfortable accommodation and spacious rooms. Nothing outstanding. Pros: Plenty of free street parking, highway location, shopping mall nearby, spacious rooms. Cons: Hotel caters mainly to Germans, so do not expect staff to speak excellent English. Info directory in the room is also far from perfection in terms of grammar, etc. CNN was the only TV channel in English.
