“Wonderful Resort! Ready to go back!”
I stayed at the Royal Suites Turquesa with 3 of my sisters for 5 fabulous nights. Not nearly enough time to fully enjoy this resort. We spent a lot of time in the Spa, the Massage Therapists were very good and much cheaper that any resort I have ever stayed at for a 1 hour massage. The food was fantastic, the best all inclusive that I have stayed at so far. The rooms were very clean, we left American candy with a tip everyday and our room was spotless! You have your own Butler and this service was really awesome. The beach is awesome, very European, so be prepared. The water is clear and very swimmable. The Security from the hotel keeps the solicitors from bothering you as long as you stay in front of the hotel. Overall a great trip, if I would have learned spanish prior to arriving the trip would have been perfect!
“Everything they said it would be.”
The stay was very nice. I only had one problem. I was not aware that it was a requirement to wear long pants at the main restarants for dinner. I did not read that on hotels website. So once I was turned away at the door I just figured I would go to the shop that was on the grounds and purchase some pants. I got to the shop and the only pair of pants sold on the grounds were a pair of linen pants for $75 USD. Wow. Besides that, no complaints.
“Loved the privacy. No children made it very nice. Everyone was so friendly.”
Front desk was amazing for answering questions. We could not eat at all the restaurants that are available. The choo-choo tram takes you everywhere. Our hotel is the last or first on the route, so there were always seats available. The beach has canopy beds on it with white shear drapes. Awesome!
“Beautiful resort, excellent service”
Very impressed with the service and just plain courtesy and friendliness, from chambermaids to waiters, bellboys, concierges and gardeners.
“hope to go back”
The food at the specialty restaurants left something to be desired. Oddly enough the buffet restaurant for the Royal Suites was excellent. The ladies ate lunch at this restaurant every day and next time would push for eating dinners there too.
“Plan on returning with my wife. Took my son's and they want to go back with their friends.”
The Hotel, room, pool, beach, and food were all fantastic. The room was large enough for 3 beds. The assorted restaurants had fantastic food since it was all-inclusive, though they need to improve on their choice of desserts. The room overlooked the pool and wasn't far from beach. They had a large spa with ample exer. equipment. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The resort is very large with multiple sections. Some for families and others for adults only. I would recommend it to anyone. We met New Yorkers from other hotels who paid more for less nites than what we got at this resort.
“We will be back for sure!”
This was an amazing place to stay. All inclusive really meant all inclusive - food, drinks, mini bar, room service - wow! Even though gratuity was also included, we tipped often. We went for our honeymoon and plan to return every 5th anniversary if our budget allows. The people, food, service, and scenery all exceeded our expectations.
“Where do i start - FANTASTIC !!!!! Proberbly the best resort ive ever”
We booked the deluxe suite in the Royal suites. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprized to find our room was the honeymoon suite which was even better. We had a jacuzzi bath and a 4 poster bed .We had a mini bar that was re filled every day with whatever was used. The room was cleaned twice a day, the room was beautiful and all royal suite rooms have a pool view. We were in building 54 which is the new part, Our butler was so helpful and could be easily contacted if required, if you wish to dine in any of the 7 a la carte restaurants you can make a reservation with your butler between 9am-12. I would advise this as it saved the queues. We dined in the Japenese resaurant, Brazilian, International, Spanish, Asian and Mexican. The internatiional was superb , we both had steak and it was amazing. One restaurant though I read the reviews about was the mexican. Reviews said not to bother but thought we would try it anyway, when we arrived i was disapointed. The resort must be aware of this as they asked us to fill out an electronic survey and i noticed they did this with everyone. We went to the Royal Gourmet for breakfast every day as it was lovely, its not a huge restaurant and was never over crowded, it is also for adults only. There is also a little train that drives around if you dont fancy walking one night. We went to the beach most days which by far is the most beautiful beach ive ever been too. Overall a fantastic holiday , great service and a truly amazing place.
“Great Resort!!!! Get the swim up rooms...”
We stayed at the Royal Suites in the older section and then looked at the swim up rooms. We asked if we could have one of those rooms instead and it was no problem to change rooms for an additional $16 a night! Cheaper than online and It was definetly worth it!! The food was ok we didnt starve Make reservations for all the restaurants the day you get there...Although we went to the Japanese restaurant at 6:30 with no reservations and got right in but others had long waits. All of the hotel staff was wonderful and very helpful.. The ones that didnt speak our language went and got someone who did. The only complaint was the bug bites!! Bring some bug spray with you and use it as you can not feel them biting until you feel them itch!! We did the Seaaquarium tour booked at the hotel and it was sooo much fun!!!! The ride there took us almost an hour after the bus picked up others at different resorts. We got to see some of the other resorts along the way though..
“Another great experience”
This is our 5th time back in the Dominica Republic and our first time where we have gone back to the same hotel. We were there last year and couldin't wait to go again this year. Although they were renovating 2 of the buildings and we experience some inconvenience, on the whole it was a wonderful vacation. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.
