“Beautiful Vacation”

The hotel is very nice. The animation group would keep you busy all day. It was a pretty nice vacation.
“A great resort and the right price!”
The service was great, the food fantastic. Quiet at night and fun during the day. Gorgeous beach. May is a rainy season, but the rain does not last long. Very hot and pretty humid. The locals told me that the best time is during our Winter season.
“VIK Hotel White Sand at Bavaro/Punta Cana”
Easy to get to the pool from the room. To get to the beach from the restaurant. Big enough for a family. For small children you have every entertainment available. So you and your wife can enjoy a couple of hours alone. The offer of adult entertainment is pretty similar to others resorts. The beach White Sands, so far, the best beach in Bavaro/Punta Cana.
“Great value hotel on fantastic beach”
Good points Grounds and pool area are very attractive with many sun loungers provided here and also on the fantastic adjoining beach. Rooms are spacious and airy, and the eventual sea-view room we were allocated (block 5) was clean and had a superb view directly overlooking the beach through the palm trees to the turquoise sea beyond. Food was plentiful and we found it best to eat in the buffet rather than the other restaurants, where there was a huge choice. Not so good points:- On arriving at the hotel after a long journey, found that the sea-view room which I had booked was unavailable for the first night and this was only rectified after several trips to the reception desk the following day. Personally found reception staff to be a little too laid-back bordering inattentive. Rooms could be sooo much better. The 'delux' room we had for the first night, despite its more recent and modern decor, had a very 'slapdash finish to the paintwork/tiling. The sea-view room was tired looking with an ill-fitting balcony door which let in water after torrential rain. After one days excursion and leaving the hotel grounds, realised that there is nothing much to see/do within walking distance of hotel. - However as this was a one weeks holiday of R&R for us, it suited our needs. One last point - save some US$ for the airport where they charge $20 per person on leaving. ($10 each on entry as well!!!) To sum up see the title.
“Beautiful Hotel/ Ok service”
VIK Hotel is a beautiful Hotel. We had a room on the 1st Floor right accross the beach. The Pools are very nice. Food is good. Entertainment is ok. Service can be better. My TV was not working properly and it took them a day to come and fix it. First night we found a couple of hairs in the bed. Drinks (like in so many reviews I read) they are not good. Soda was ok, not as sweet as the Hotel we stayed in Puerto Plata. But I believe that some people as long as its included, they eat and drink anything. The beach at the hotel (Bavaro) is gorgeous!!
“Extremely satisfying for the budget”
Perfect for the person who is on a budget however if you are high maintenance, I would look elsewhere. We should have checked to see if the hotel had an elevator because everyday several times a day we would have to climb three flights of stairs to get to our room. The overall grounds of the hotel are beautiful and well kept. The rooms are okay but had a musty smell to them. The website says nothing about a dress code so we were disappointed to know that we could not eat in the Italian restaurant while we were there, we had only brought sandals. The staff is usually great however we were approached by people trying to push their new hotel. The beach was fantastic and had a lot of things to do at no cost or low cost. The overall vacation was pretty good.
“The VIK is a good deal!”
The premises and beach are spectacular! Just like the website - palm trees and clear water. You just have to get past the food, which is adequate, but bland and mass-produced. Some topless, European women on beach, and more smokers than would be normal at a US resort. But overall a great place!
“Very Good for the $”
Positives - staff is very nice and friendly. Hotel is relatively small so there is no need to take a golf cart to get to the beach or restaurant. Food was cafeteria style, very basic. Plenty of fresh fruit and greens. There was a bar everywhere, so you are never empty handed. The entertainment was fun and the animation staff was really good. Negatives- very basic service and was a bit slow. Rooms were old, as was the furniture. Limited towels to 1 per person. Ask for your tv remote and safe key upon arrival. They dont tell you about it at check in.
