“Good basic hotel”
The Foss Hotel Lind is handy for the centre of town. It's clean and functional and servesa good breakfast. There is no bar or restaurant, but there are plenty of those nearby. It's very close to the main shopping street. Good value for money.
“Clean, comfortable - but small”
Hotel rooms in Reykjavik are in general quite small, and this was no exception. The front desk staff were WONDERFUL. Quiet location, but convenient walk to almost everything. Would go again.
“Clean, Comfortable & Convenient”
Check-in was a breeze, despite my initial apprehensions with an online booking. The room was very clean and after a long day, we appreciated the comfortable bed. Whilst not there to watch TV, we did welcome the choice in the discovery real time channel. The bathroom was adequate, and even the smell of sulphur from the shower just added to the experience. Reception staff were extremely good in assisting with car hire and any excursions you wished to plan and I would highly recommend doing the Blue Lagoon on airport day, as it is a fantastic distraction, that does relax you before you fly. I was very happy with the buffet breakfast, which consisted of the usual, but with the addition of pancake mix, smoked salmon and to my husbands delight, a choice of cheese spreads! Location is perfect to walk into town and there are a couple of restaurants just a stones throw. We ate at Ban Thai, which was popular, a good sign, and you were greeted with a tantalising smell as soon as you walked in. Have patience, as the food is worth the wait, and you have to sympathise when you hear the crash of glass, as the waitresses try to negotiate the windy narrow stairs, if you find yourself on the top floor. I can highly recommend Cafe Paris - the hub of Reykjavik for people watching and good food. I would completely avoid the tourist info /tax refund office in town - everyone I had met had been so lovely, but he is the bad apple, and was choosy in who he gave tax refunds to. Much better at airport!
“clean, friendly, great breakfast”
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
“Recommend this Hotel”
Good sized room, although a rather small ensuite, however perfectly adequate. The hotel was well placed for the main street and reasonably priced, with helpful, friendly staff.
“Clean, comfortable and good location.”
Great hotel, nice and clean and about 10 minutes walk from the main city centre. The breakfast was also really good and included a waffle maker!
“Good Location And Good Value For Older Hotel”
The room was clean and functional; however, it was more like a modern college dorm room. The trade off is location relative to the main shopping, eating, and bar areas but sacrificing ammenities. It is right off the main drag and you can walk to everything. Goop people and service there.
“Good deal in Reykjavik”
This place is very nice and clean. Really good price for the location/star rating. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The only down side was the size of the room. I would go back any time.
“Used many times”
I travel to Iceland on a not infrequent basis and have stayed in most of the main hotels in Reykjavik. The Lind is clean, reasonably comfortable and very handy for most of the resturants. Also, if you have a hire car, you park, free, in the street to the side of the hotel. I find that the staff really do try to be helpful, although if you have a very early morning departure for the UK, then do ask them about an early breakfast as they will manage to sort out coffee and a sandwich. As I have said, I have used this hotel several tiems before and will use again. If on business, the free Wi-Fi access allows you make free VoIP telephone calls and listen to the BBC through your PC for hours on end.
“Good location, pleasant staff, good breakfast.”
Good central location , five minutes from main shopping street. Rooms fine , beds comfortable. TV had limited channels, only three available. Substantial breakfast with excellent smoked salmon.
