“Love”
I enjoy this hotel every time I stay there
“Nice place to enjoy Rio”
I got a deluxe ocean front room, I had a real good time. Breakfast could be somewhat better, but it is a real good hotel. They ridiculously charge internet connection.
“Our stay at othon palace from Canada”
We had a wonderful time at Othon Palace; the staff were corteous and responded to our needs in a very professional way. I would come back to Rio and stay at the Othon Palace hotel again.
“Excellent Hotel in excellent location”
Would definately recommend the Othon Palace, its ideally located overlooking Copacabana beach with easy promenade walks to Ipanema and the shopping district. They have an excellent breakfast buffet, lots of choice, the restraunt is perfectly positioned for a sweeping view of the beach. We were on the 26th floor & apparently the highest floors are the best currently as there is some renovation on the lower floors. Minor ommisions are: no coffee maker or wi-fi if you want to be picky !! So next time we'll take a coffee jug & dongle !!
“Come back any time”
The hotel is situated directly on the famous Copacabana beach. It is nice, clean and well maintained. The staff was realy friendly and concierge service very effective. The room was not very big but but big enough to make you feel comfortable. The only drawback was the breakfast that was a "mass consuption" in a crowded room without any privacy. The breakfast itself was good. All in all impression was very good and I would come back anytime.
“Rio Othon is nice but needs some upgrades.”
I had such a hard time to check in at Rio Othon Palace Hotel. First, they didn't want release my room due to missing my son and myselt document with photo identification number . I mentioned that Hotel should send me a message about it, however, they said is not their job, it would be Expedia responsability. Also, I had reserved 2 rooms with 2 beds and 1 king size. However, they said Rio Othon Palace Hotel doesn't guarantee any reservation, depend on the availability. Finally, after a lot complains, they decided to give a room as I reserved. The room wasn't that clean, the refrigerator was dirty and TV was too old. The shower drain was plugged, I had to call 3 times for the maintance, they took a long time to come to the room to unplugged it. On the check out, they were charging me for several missing snacks and drinks. However, only one snacks was taken. The Hotel is nice, but needs some updgrades.
“Happily stay here again”
I was worried by the number of negative reports but found my own experience very pleasant. Staff were helpful and it just did not seem the same place so many people had complained about.
“Okay room, fantastic location”
Decent hotel in a fantastic location and a nice, spacious room - but the window was jammed, leaving a quite big gap open. Helpful staff and fast laundry service, but the internet was very expensive. In a great location. Overall it is fine, but feels expensive for what you get - but that is common for hotels in Rio.
“5 star prices, 3-4 star quality”
Well placed on Copacabana beach with helpful staff and efficient room service, concierge and porters, the hotel was let down by somewhat run-down room decoration and the 40 minute wait for check in. I expected better at these high prices but want to thank the staff for doing so much to make my stay enjoyable.
“10 days in Rio”
Room had nice view and desk staff was very helpful. My room had a great ocean view.
