Grand Hotel Salerno

"We checked into a seaview room. The view from the balcony was spectacular. This is where the good news ends. The room was dated, paint peeling, bed was hard and the bathroon needed a good clean. We arrived back to the hotel on the second afternoon, to find a dirty rag was left on our bench. From then on, we had "do not disturb" on our door, as I went over every surface with antiseptic wipes. The breakfast was pastries, boiled eggs and meat. The room was configured with tables of 8. It was not condusive to a relaxing morning"

"This hotel is super convenient because it’s quite literally outside of the train station. I found most of the staff to be very helpful. The breakfast is not great (no hot items and very bread heavy). However, the croissants are very good and very fresh. The breakfast room is small, so either go down right when it opens, or wait a while. It’s hard to get a table."

"This hotel was in a convenient location. It was walking distances from the port, train/bus station and many rental car locations. We only had a 1 night stay to pick up or rental car before heading off. We arrived early and the hotel stored our luggage for us while we went out. The hotel is dated but comfortable. The breakfast provide was great and all the staff was lovely."

"Perfect location, we were able to walk everywhere. Very close to the train station and ferry port. Check-in instructions were not provided until we got to the property, but was still an easy process. The room was in great condition and felt safe. Would definitely stay here again."

"Fuyez Pas représentatif des photos manques d’amour besoin de rénovation. Aucune air climatisé fonctionnelle dans la chambre on nous propose un ventilateur pour compenser il faisait très chaud et ma fille sortait de l’hôpital pour choc anaphylactique et vagale donc nous voulions avoir la climatisation. Nous demandons remboursement ou changement de chambres Impossible car hôtel pleine. On nous demande d’attendre à 2 reprises 10 min qui furent inutiles car se fut 30 min laissée à nous même et refuse de Nous rembourser. Communication avec expédia car nous sommes en problématique avec hôtelier. Déception importante des mesures alternatives non respectées et impossible. Je ne recommande pas l’endroit. Fuyez"

"Cons: it sits on the top of a VERY steep hill. You can take the 68 stairs or take the steep winding road! Both options suck! Do no attempt to carry luggage on either option! We arrived by train and took a taxi the 1.2 miles to the unit. Don’t make the same mistake we did and read the 2 in 1 unit as a washer and dryer (that is how the 2 in 2 units hate). This is ONLY a washer. The kitchen/refrigerator is in a shared space. Kinda weird having your food/drinks available to others.Houskeeping only came once during our 5 day stay- ended up having to was the towels ourselves! Pro: Super secure. Gotta get through a locked do to gain access to the complex. The door to the unit is code entry- Then your room within the unit has a keyed lock! Super comfortable bed with good bedding and pillows! Nice bathroom with a great shower."
