“relaxing holiday setting”
Fine base for a short break; lovely setting/ambience/views; very pleased with San Remo and this hotel, both of which lived up to expectations.
“A Grand Old Palace”
The faded grandeur of this hotel was a lovely haven from the bustle of the Italian Riveiera. The restaurant was excellent and we particularly admired the serving of the fish . The location was good for walking out into the area and for driving or taking a bus. The swimming pool was much appreciated and the sea view lovely. Highly recommended.
“Lovely old Victorian hotel”
Really enjoyed our stay. It is a beautiful old hotel very redolent of a quieter and more stylish and elegant era. The rooms were clean and comfortable with lovely views, and the staff were helpful and pleasant.
“A very pleasant and comfortable hotel in a very plesant town”
The hotel was very good and pleasant.I appreciated very much quality of service and cleanless. The town near the sea is beautiful. It's possible to go to the beach, or to the hotel's swimming-pool, to do shopping, to live by night...
“Close to the beach”
This hotel could do with a tidy up, the rooms were clean but the fixtures were knocked about. Close to the main San Remo shopping and beach area. Construction work on the road at the front meant walking up the road over and bridge and back down again to access the beach area. There is a swimming pool next door that guest have access to but this appeared all locked up. Breakfast was basic buffet with limited choices. Would try somewhere else next time.

“Renovations undergoing”
booked this hotel despite the bad reviews in hopes of its yesteryear's charme... However, our room was recently renovated so everything was in order and clean but unfortunately the charming part was replaced by new functional furniture... so not what we were hoping for but... the garden was nice, the pool is quite big and heated and its a nice walk along the boardwalt to the city... overall OK but not great
“Wasted potential”
When we first checked in here we hated it, but it does grow on you. The rooms appear to have been renovated recently but not with much imagination. Some very simple touched could have made the room much better. It was clean and comfortable however and the sea view was stunning. Slightly out of toen centre - a 10 - 15 min walk to get there. Service from staff was poor to non existent. I don't think we received a positive response to any request we made - very disappointing. This place has potential but needs much better management.
“Charming Italian Hotel”
Loved the character of this Hotel, Very close to beach, but all beaches here are private and you have to pay to get on them. although it could definitely do with some decoration.
“Once beautiful old Hotel”
Hotel is about 120 years old, completely worned out, only 4 double rooms on the last floor with aircondition and new windows, in other rooms windows and doors same age as hotel probably, impossible to sleep in the night due to noise from the street, seaview rooms except for ones with AC, very hot and noisy. Fungus on the walls in the room, covered wit paint, bathrooms out of date, quite clean but smelly and worned out. Hotel team professional but not always nice.
