“Good value, very nice hotel”
The worst thing about the DeCameron Santa Marta is the location and beach view. It's 5 miles from town and the beach view is barges and derricks. However, the resort is first rate, the rooms, food, entertainment, and service are very good, and the price is attractive. I recommend it.
“Hope to be able to go back some time.”
The hotel is well run with an excellent helpful staff. The facilities and availability of activities make it well worth staying at this hotel. The food and drink is plentiful. The only problem is dinner time reservations. You may not get the dinner or time you want. Great place for families with children or just adults out for a great time. All inclusive means exactly what it says.
“It is one the best experience I ever had.”
When they say all-inclusive, they mean it. All you can drink, all you can eat buffets, great restaurants for sit down dinners, private beach, hammocks, back horse riding, tennis court, recreational activities, pool for kids and adults, nightly shows, discotheques, Beautiful surrenders. An awesome place, If you want a place to relax and get away of everything. You found it. I can not wait to go back.
“Great Value!!”
My boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel for the price we paid....I felt it was a great deal. I am a very picky eater and was very happy with the selection and quality of food. The only complaint was that there could have been a few more activities to take advantage of during the day. But overall we would definately recommend and will stay at a Decameron in other cities.

I really enjoyed this place. The food was plentiful and pretty good. The place was big and nice and the location was great. I would recommend it as a great value. Bring a bilingual dictionary.
“Rooms have great views”
We decided to take a 4 day vacation in the month of December and enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. We booked our rooms through Expedia and received a beautiful Villa with a great view of the ocean. Keep in mind that December is a vacation month and the hotel can become extremely crouded. The only negative was the 500 teenagers that were staying in the same hotel that week. They were noisy and annoying. If you plan on booking a room in this hotel my recommendation is to look for a room during off peak season.
“Repeat customer - a Great vacation getaway”
Our second visit to the Decameron in 3 months and while it was only for only one night, it is like a mini vacation. We never left the hotel as everything is there. The service is very attentive, personal and professional. The setting is very beautiful and very well maintained. Rooms are very clean but a little dated. Wide variety of activities for everyone. Food is very nicely presented and, while not 5 star, is very good. The shows were excellent and professional. It is very tranquil and not a lot of partying or drinking. A great value for the price and we'll be back!
“Excellent service and friendly people!”
The service is excellent as well as the food served, mixed drinks could be better but national beer tastes great. Rooms are clean and have a great view, activities and shows are great. One suggestion to management, Time Share sellers are a pain in the butt, they keep asking stupid questions not just once or twice, but several times. Please make them go away so people can enjoy their vacation.

Considering the low economic surroundings in the immediate area, I’d say the resort did what it was supposed to do under the circumstances. I read the reviews more negative than positive prior to booking the trip and figured I’m only going to be there for the weekend to visit some friends so I’d give it a try. Much to my delight the place was great. I was attracted to the all inclusive deal of drinking and eating for free while I was in Santa Marta and will say I was very satisfied. Only few issue that I had was the bed was really firm and that they have sales reps trying to sell you vacation packages to other Decameroon resorts while you’re trying to relax. I also didn’t like that they had one sales individual asking my girlfriend personal questions that did not pertain to anything regarding the sales pitch while I was away getting the drinks. Other than that I think the resort suited my purpose for the time I was there.
